hi,

does it really takes 6 months to get an update? or are there cases in ADVO wherein the whole process is faster? thanks

This spreadsheet will help you if you look at avg timelines for processing at various stages

Some people finish their whole process in 6 months or less and for some others it take 15 months or more. It really depends on your case. No one can say specifically when you will hear from them. Be patient you will hear soon

i agree, it's a case to case basis and will also depend on the officer who's handling the case. thanks :) hope we could hear all the good news we've long been waiting for ...

My personal experience is that whenever you send any query to CIC ( ADVO ), the case seems to move further with some information from CIC. Someone must try this out for re-confirmation.

I thought the same too that if you request for notes maybe there could be some progress. But then Teaya_ram applied and she to is waiting for further correspondence from ADVO.

Have you thought of ordering notes in your case?

Nothing from Abu Dhabi Visa office since March :|

I thought you had applied for notes. Have you received them yet??

7th july I applied for them so let's see when I receive them :D inshallah this month

I think it takes 5 weeks?

Ok, so i got a reply from the visa office and from my MP. They said everything is fine and that they are doing the background and police checks now. Thankfully, we passed the proof of relationship and they don't need an interview, so that is wonderful news. Mp also mentioned that ordering our notes and asking them to inquire may cause delays because they have to pull your file out of Que, and when that happens they aren't working on it.Not sure i believe her on that one, she might just want me to stop asking and sending emails :P.
Good luck to everyone
I hope its all over soon

I called my mp too but since we applied Nov 2013 she said to call back in November this year. She said its too early to find out anything now, so I will call back in November and see what's up. And the notes take 30 days to come.

I applied for notes too on July 25, lets see when they arrive, I hope they are helpful. And last time I heard from ADVO was in March 12 nothing since then. What is it, 5 month starting now. These people are so slow

Well atleast we know they are working. ::)

There should be a standard timeline for everybody. Its so frustrating to see applicants in Australia, etc. getting their PR visas in under 4 months and we have to wait so long. :'(

Its been 3.5 months since sending the additional documents ADVO had requested for and still no update. :(

I hope we all get through this soon!!

Yea I received the additional docs request in march along with my acknowledgment from abu Dhabi visa office, I heared nothing back from them until now. Ecas is full of crap (sorry for my language but I really miss my husband and I don't even know if I should visit him, what if they give him the visa and then I will have to spend tons of more money) why don't they at least update us to sooth our hearts n soul. I'm so restless I'm going insane right now

Dear Safa,

I totally understand your anger and frustration. Trust me, we are all going through the same. The chances of getting the visa before the expiry of your medicals is high so why dont you plan to visit your husband and if you get the PR visa you can always cancel the plan. It gives you something to look forward to so that takes your mind off the PR processing time. Just a suggestion!

May I ask you to share what additional documents were requested by ADVO?

teaya_ram, it is these background and police checks which take the longest in the process as they have to wait for external agencies like the police in the UAE and your home country to come back to them to verify the documents we have submitted. I have read in many blogs and forums that your file goes in a queue once they request background information and who knows how long our files stay in this queue.

I am visiting my husband next month. I am so excited about that :) Going to put this waiting frustration at the back of my mind for a while...
