In my case, it took us a little over two months to get Sponsor Approval once they had sent us an Acknowledgement of Receipt.

Hi everyone! Just a quick question, how long till you get sponsor's approval from the VO in ontario? We submitted our application last May 22, 2014, however, up to date, we have not heard anything from them :'(

Hello llij21 - Its you again, guess you are getting worried - just give it a few more days, as a lot of cases are not making the 55 days mark and going to the 60-65 days mark. You will hear from them soon.

Hang in there, you should hear from them anytime now.

You may call CIC Help Centre in Canada and explain your concern once you have exceeded the average processing time for the Sponsorship Approval. In the thread for May 2014 applicants, you may check if others who have submitted their applications after you have received their Sponsorship Approval. That may give you an idea of the applications that have recently cleared the 1st stage.

processing time from receipt of application is 55 days. cic received ours on 17 April 2014 and got the approval last 16 June. you will get yours soon

Llij21, we sent our application on 14th May and was received on the 15th by cic.
Still did not get SA till now. However, after giving a call last Friday they give us the UCI number and it only shows application received... Anyway, hoping to hear good news within this week... :

I am little confused may be same body can help, indeed i have already applied sponsorship for my wife on May 21, we both live in Saudi Arabia, now my contract will end last week of 1st week of December, so i have to go back to Canada and she has to go back to Pakistan so if in between application is not processed then i dont know what we have to do,shall we have to ask them to transfer file to Islamabad or is it ok if she stays in pakistan while it will be processed in ABU DHABI office.

Hello mech1090,

I am sure the more senior members would be able to assist you better, but if I understand correctly, you're a Canadian citizen living and working in Saudi Arabia. And by December 2014 (first week or last week?), your contract will expire. I would hope that by that time you should have received your SA and the file transferred to ADVO.

What about your spouse? Is she not a resident of Saudi Arabia or is she under your sponsorship? Can she not stay in Saudi Arabia after you have left for Canada?

And out of curiosity, what country have you noted as your resident and mailing address in the application?

I would imagine that you wouldn't need to tell them to transfer the file from Abu Dhabi to Islamabad, but just update your residence and mailing address. But like I said, maybe the more senior members can guide you better.
