Guys , how much time is it taking now a days for the whole process in Abudhabi?? less than a year? or more than a year from submitting applicaiton to getting the visa stamped on the passport?

Hello Ravi,

The processing time for Abu Dhabi has come down over the last few quarters to about 15 months currently ( last updated March 2014 on CIC website).

If you take a look at the URL for the spread sheet below - you can see the average time taken for individuals, some have taken just under a year and some just a little over. Now you have to keep in mind every case is different and you never know which officer is dealing with your case. Just have to hang in there my friend. Let us know of your time line and if you have any questions.

Hi there,

As per the CIC website, the average processing time for Abu Dhabi is 15 months, however recent applicants have received their visas within 6 to 10 months. Though it is really on a case to case basis.

Please can you share your timeline as follows:

Application sent to CPC-M :
Application received by CPC-M :
Date of medicals :
AOR received from CPC-M :
Sponsorship Approval :
AOR received from ADVO :
ADR received from ADVO :

hi guys, thanks a lot for replying. Yes I saw that things were getting a bit quicker out there . We are just getting our documents ready, the 15 months time line is looming over us and we were in two minds on whether to proceed or not...

one more question though, this 6 months or nine months or be it one year is the total processing time it took from when they send the application to missusuaga to getting the visa stampd from abudhabi?

Are you both already in Canada ? or you are planing for an outland sponsorship ? On the scale of things , time will pass by in a blink.

Just make sure you provide accurate documents which are required according to the check list, photographs of you as a couple ( focusing more on family pictures and pictures with friends and relatives), story questionnaire with dates and so on.

Let us know if you have any more questions or concerns. All the best.

Indeed some of them are in fact within a year (the time taken for application to sent to CPC-M, to getting the visa stamped from ADVO )

This is an outland sponsorship. Iam currently in Canada- have a PR. Iam still looking for a job. I did my landing some years back and now came back after my marraige.

Usually outland sponsorship is processed faster than inland, and with inland sponsorship the applicant cannot leave the country. Some , I hear, try to go for the inland sponsorship just so that the couples can stay together while the processing is done.

PM me and I can try to point you in the right directions, if you are looking for some IT jobs .

Anyone with Any Updates - Please do share

There have been no updates recently. Since a few weeks now no one has reported getting PPR... I am waiting for that magical email...It has been 10 months since we applied. But I recently got a multiple entry visit visa so I have planned to visit my husband in August. Does anyone know what happens if I get PPR when I am visiting Canada. Can I send my passport from there to get the visa stamped? Or do I need to come back to Abu Dhabi to send the passport over?

I think you should wait a month more because I feel you might get the PR before that and also I heard from someone here that travelling to Canada while PR is being processed might be a risk. Anyways, there is no solid proof for that . Just check twice and be sure before travelling. All the best :)

Guys, can you help me with the following question in the sponsorship evaluation form .From when do we start counting the time period?? From the day am filling the application? the question is as follows

"Write your net personal income for the 12 months preceding the date of your application. Also write the dates of that 12-month period."

Yeah I am only planning to visit in the 1st week of September. Anyway I dont think there is a problem to visit your spouse when PR is being processed. I have already visited him once before...I wrote specifically to the embassy while applying that we cant be away for so long and that I need a visit visa so I can visit my husband every few months. If there was any strict restriction on visiting while PR is being processed, they wouldn't issue it in the first place. This time I have got multiple entry visit visa for 8 years :)
But I understand what you are saying and will double check anyway.
