No it's not. In most cases from Abu Dhabi it's the initial stage where this is asked to complete and submit any additional documents that are requested too with it.

also, ive been living in the philippines the past 7 years, just moved to canada. What paper works will be requested from me as a sponsor
that i will need to get from the Philippines? if there are any.

Whew reading this thread gave me some hope. My wife is a Filipina currently working in Kuwait. Im a Canadian citizen, will be starting the process soon. when i heard 25-27 months i was like crap too long :c

But seeing as the most of you in this thread have had it processed very swiftly gives me some hope.. i just dont pray i end up like the 80% and wait 2 years.

Any pointers you guys can give me to speed up the process? maybe papers you forgot to send or so on causing delay?

also i have 1 last question

is it possible to just bring my wife to canada on a tourist visa, then apply for PR in-land? That would mean we would be able to stay together during the application time right? if possible i mean.


I noticed through all of your messages that this forum really gives all of us hope. I cant imagine going a YEAR though without hearing from them

I wish you all the good luck and all of those applying in ( July. August ,sept ) as we knows its vacation month’s so the capacity of employ’s in the embassy will around 50 % or less so the work of our file’s will be more slow..

You can do your medical before submitting the paper this will save your time. My wife did it. If you do it later it doesnt effect your file.

My wife lives in Kuwait and they don't ask for cancellation of residency. She has Pakistani Passport.

Hi there,

What I did was... I provide each and everything thing like emails, wedding pictures, wedding bills, wedding card, gift receipt, bills of phone and watever I can. Provide watever u have.

If the marriage is real then u have lot of thing to show.

Dont worry as I'm seeing the average time took is 8-9 months but again it depend on file to file (Case to Case) everyone case is different.

Just provide watever u have.

I agree with Aamir. Every case is different. In my case its been 27 months and my file is still in Abu Dhabi. I got remedical request now and hope its last stage...

Hi,

I have a question they asked me for my wife updated medical and addtional doc's june 1st and I sent everything in.
I just checked Client Application Status online and it has been changed from "Application received" to "In Progress".

Is that a good sign does this mean its in the final stage?

and that they started processing my application on oct 9 2012
my question is what stage am i at? do they request docs b4 or after
they change in to "in process"

In process usually means that the process has just started. They can request documents if needed at anytime.

im a newbie just filed my application begining of june and a have a long way to go
app filed: june 9, 2012
app rec: june 11, 2012
visa office: abu dhabi

I also filed my application this year, so i guess we' re on the same boat.. This is my timeline..

May 16 - application submitted
May 17 - papers received by CIC- Mississauga
Aug. 15 -an email received by my husband stating that they are going to send him the approval letter
Sept. 20- AOR received

Until now eCAS is still the same, medical results have been received. I have no idea if my papers were already received by Abu dhabi office but still praying that everything is going to be normal.
