Hi everyone!

I've been trying very hard to read some of the posts on this forum, but it's giving me a headache. I don't know very much tagalog.

I'm Canadian - born and raised in Toronto. My fiance is Filipino - born and raised in Iloilo.
Can anyone please tell me what documents we need to get married in Iloilo?
Can someone please clarify also WHERE I get these documents?

Thanks so much!!!

hi,
just want to share these things based on my experience. We applied for marriage license at the Manila City Hall but got married in Makati. Yours will be in iloilo however they have the same requirements as all civil registrars in the country are following the same guidelines by the NSO. in my opinion, Manila City Hall is more strict compared to the ones in the provinces. ;D

You need to apply the license to a municipality where one of you is a resident. And the license will be valid anywhere within the Philippines so you can get married to a different municipality/ province.

1. Before the wedding, you have to apply for a Marriage License atleast 2 weeks before the big day. (Note:you will only receive the marriage license after 10 working days )
2. The application for license shall be done in the municipality- where one of you is a resident. A valid I.D. will be asked which shows the address as a proof).
3. Then go to the Civil Registar and submit the following requirements at the staff:

For applicants 18-21 years old
1. Birth Certificate latest copy
Born in Manila - local copy
Born outside Manila - NSO copy
2. Valid I.D. - original and photocopy
I.D. must show address.
3. Parental Consent - parent must come with valid I.D.
4. Marriage Counselling -DSWD
5. CENOMAR

Applicants 21-25 years old (i belong here, so my parents were with me when we applied)
1. Birth Certificate latest copy
Born in Manila - local copy
Born outside Manila - NSO copy
2. Valid I.D. - original and photocopy
I.D. must show address.
3. Parental Advice - parent must come with valid I.D. (My parents signed the form given)
4. Marriage Counselling-DSWD

For 25 years old and above, only Birth Certificate, valid I.D. and marriage counselling are required.

For Foreigners (my husband)
1. Legal Capacity to marry (Certificate of No Impediment) to be issued by the embassy.
2. Certificate of Singleness or CENOMAR- can be issued by the foreigner's country of origin's government.
3. Passport - original and photocopy.

Previous Marriages
Additional requirement:
1. Must provide the death certificate of deceased spouse
2. Or the judicial decree of your absolute divorce, or the judicial decree of your annulment or declaration of nullity of your previous marriage. (the photocopy will be submitted but need to show the original)

The process is simple, you can do it together without paying anyone. Once you go to the staff, they will give you intructions. The fee is less than 3CAD.

After the Wedding: make sure to apply for Advanced Endorsement of you Marriage Certificate at the city hall of the place where the marriage took place to be filed at National Statistics Office (NSO) (Fee is around 6CAD). This will be needed for the visa application of your wife since CIC only accept Marriage certificate in NSO Paper. (Note that usual filing of the marriage certificate takes 2-3months, so ask for advanced endorsement).

My husband and i had a great time doing all these process together without assistance. Dont get fooled when someone would ask you thousands of pesos to make the process easier. We did it ourselves.

Good luck on your upcoming marriage ;D :D

i read one of your post here ....about sa payment nang rprf.....nakatanggap na ang hubby mo nang letter sa embassy asking for rprf.....kasi hindi rin kami nagbayad tapos hanggang ngayon wala pang request...pero nagbayad nalang kayo no? ..ty

Ohh hi nice2010

Yah your definitely right.. Im one of the late payers of the rprf :( sadly, i think that's the cause of the delay of my papers..

Hmmm. And thru this forum ko nalaman that my hubby missed paying my landing fee, on that day we decided to pay it online asap nun nlaman namn.. Luckily, the day after that it was mar18 he received a letter of request from CPCM asking for the payment.. Mar22 the embassy got the copy of the receipt..

I cant dictate u exactly what to do.. What's ur timeline dear if u dont mind?.. It 's up to u pdn if u are going to do the same thing kht na wala pa kau na nrrcv na letter asking for d payment.. Wala nmn mwwla if ur going to pay it rght away kht wala png letter ksi its refundble nmn.. I just shared my experience to u..hope this helps :)

Godbless you dear..

the time na pinaprocess application ko i was in canada (2010, umuwi lang ako para may ayusin and vacation na rin) so i had my medical in Canada, december embassy contacted me, they told me na they can't issue my visa kase wala daw Medical ko so tumawag pa ko sa Clinic sa Canada kung saan ako nag Medical and they told me na forward na nila sa Ottawa (which is ung bagsakan ng mga Medical in Canada) they advice me na sabihan ung Embassy Manila na i-request ung Medical ko kaya tumagal. kase Embassy Manila ang tatawag sa Canada. plus ung mailing pa ng Medical papuntang Manila and Holiday.

reason lang bat tumagal eh 3months na asa Canada Medical ko hindi pala nila naforward sa Manila kase dapat i-request.
