thats great news denoose! time to join our club haha. 13 pounds?!? wow that is a lot, i hope you organize your documents well so they would not have a hard time going through it.

It will probly take at least a month for them to get back at you and say if you are eligible to sponsor your wife (which i bet you are). They will then send your wife's documents to the embassy in manila for further processing. The wait time before they ask for your passport is really unpredictable. I will attach the timeline table for those who have joined this thread just so you can see each of our timelines. I will add you to this on too. Welcome to the club :)

Hi Everyone, Nice to see a thread with my fellow kababayans on it... I was wondering if anyone can help me or would have some advise para sa amin for our PR application

I was sent to Nicaragua for work purposes. I stayed there for 2 years under a temporary resident status. This is where I met my Husband (who by the way has a dual citizenship: Nicaraguan-Canadian) We had our civil marriage in Nicaragua and is planning to have a church wedding in the Philippines in 2 years. I am not yet registered as married sa NSO.. Pero my status in Nicaragua is Married.

I am currently under a visitors pass in Canada living with my husband and as I mentioned, we are in the process of applying for a PR. My question is, in my case, what do you think is the best way to apply: Inland or Outland? We are considering doing an inland application since I have not registered our marriage in the Philippines (My only fear is kung padala nila sa manila and hindi makita na Im registered as married eh ma-deny ako) Pero hindi ako sigurado dito... I am hoping my marriage license done and filed in Nicaragua is enough.. We do however, have all our licenses brought from Nicaragua. We are more or less complete with all our documentations and proofs

Thanks so much in advance for your help and goodluck to all applicants like us! :)

hi aeo626, nice to have you here. i dont have the best answer for you, this is solely my opinion on your case. If i were in your shoes i would apply for an inland application so you can stay with your husband while waiting for your PR rather than waitng 6-12 months in the philippines while your documents are being processed in the philippines. You have a tourist visa for canada which is great so just stay in canada with your husband and go for inland.

I bet your marriage in nicaragua will suffice as long as you have the proper documentation to prove that the marriage done there was a valid one and that canada recognizes it as a legit marriage. just research on the proper documents needed from nicaragua so that you can claim that you are married and that the canadian government recognizes that marriage. as you said you brought all the licenses brought to prove that so you should be ok :)

the reason why i didnt propose an outland app is because, if you would look at our timeline table (see my post above yours), you will see that we all wait awhile before the visa is processed and everyone is longing for their family/spouse. dont go through that, just stay with your husband. its better to wait for it together than to be alone back in the Philippines.

Hello I lovemywife :)

We made up one envelope for each document that had extra paper needed to answer the questions and then put them in order of the numbered question , in all 22 envelopes .

thats good! organized = always good!.. as for our app it was 3 folders with a table of contents for each envelope.
1st: sponsorship application
2nd: permanent residence application
3rd: proof of legitimacy of our relationship (around 700 pics, letters, emails, internet calls, movie house tickets from the time we met each other, etc.)

:)

Hi everyone! I have been following this thread for quite some time now and I gotta say I'm quite jealous to all those whose wives/husbands/partners have had DMs and Visas Issued..
I sent my application on September 01 and it was received the next day.

Hey everyone!
So I got my visa..technically my mom got it as im out of town. My hubby booked me a ticket already. I haven't attended a seminar yet. And it's confusing me. What should I do with that?..my husband is Canadian.
I would want to do the seminar in Cebu. Is it possible?..can anyone tell me the exact thing i should do and where I should go and what do i need?
Salamat!

Hi guys!

Just want to ask, what's the usual message seen when the 'Decision Made' link is clicked under the SPONSORSHIP APPLICATION STATUS (Not the PR status)? Cause with ours, it says that they've sent a letter regarding the decision last Sept 10, 2010, but up to now my husband has not received any letter yet so we're actually not certain, what the decision is.

Thanks!

Most of our extra paper work was for the Sponsored Spouse Partner Questionnaire = Airline tickets , wedding photos , family photos . hotel receipts , letters with post marks that can be read , emails yes between us maybe 500 .

Yes we also wrote a Contents of the envelopes for them to find all the paper easier .
I wrote a 4 page letter about our relation ship and she wrote a seven page letter .
I sometimes wonder if i sent to much information .

@katefs
your husband can call the helpdesk number in canada. they can tell him on the phone what the decision is.
