Hi,

What's the process of changing name? Do I need to process name change in the passport first before
informing CEM about it or inform them of my plan before proceeding with the name change in the passport?

Newly-wed newbie here! This is my first time to post but I've been reading this thread for some time now.

My fiance and I just got married last Dec 2014. He is a Filipino permanent resident in Canada. We are planning to apply for my spouse visa as soon as we get our NSO marriage certificate.

Tanong ko lang sana.. When you guys applied for spouse visa, DID YOU HIRE AN IMMIGRATION CONSULTANT TO PROCESS YOUR APPLICATION? or kanya-kanyang pasa lang kayo?

If you did hire someone, can you guys give me referrals? So far I've only contacted CPIS (Canadian Professional Immigration Services) but their processing fee is kinda steep. But we're willing to pay naman. We're still looking for other options. Baka may ma-recommend kayo iba?

my application was filed sept. 9, 2014,medical done, and AOR was received by CEM November 4, 2014. CEM emailed me requesting for my travel records so i filled up the form and send my PP. CEM received my documents and PP November 10, 2014. No update from CEM since. Is my application already at PPR or in process? thanks

Akala ko kasi mas mapapadali at mas malaki ang chance ma-approve if mag hire kami ng agency na mag process ng application namin.

So kayo, you applied on your own lang talaga? Umokay naman?

I went through agency. It has its advantages. They go ttrough all your forms to make sure they are correct. Also they become your agent so cem will go through the agency if they have concerns. They also send back your passport and visa to the agency so if you move there is no problem. If you chose an agency I would ask around to see what is best for you

You can check your application status online at cic.gc.ca
It will tell you kung in process naba or kung ano na status.

Cruzz. I think we have the same visa officer. Im a november 2013 applicant as well. I hope we get our DMs soon.

At this moment is not advisable to change name in your passport,
Visa and Confirmation of Permanent Residence will be made with
the documents that you used to apply, you will need to match your name
and passport with your Visa.

Ako noon I was asked if i was traveling alone or may kasama, kung saan ang final destination ko, kung saan ako magstay doon at sino kasama ko. (address, relatives) kung magkano dala ko money and kung may dala ako meat or dairy products at kung may dala daw ba ako BALUT. Natawa nalang ako sa immigration officer

Contacted DHL today as had a strange feeling. They said they tried to deliver COPR on Friday and again on Saturday, but we were not home. We were actually home all day on both days. After confirming the address, part of our building name was cut off on the label and they had an old mobile contact number listed, despite us updating the embassy with the new contact numbers back in May 2014. The courier said they are going to try to deliver again today. At least we have a tracking number now. Woohoo. So many emotions lol. Looks like we are still a go for Saturday flight! Just need to get the PDOS completed now!

Hi TeamGo, did you just ask DHL if they have a package under your name? Im asking because i tried contacting them last week and I was told they cant track a package by simply searching my name in their system. I had to have a tracking number. The DHL guy I talked to wasn't very helpful at all.

Hello..how will I know that my CORP is already released by CEM,,will the courier contact me to pick my package? Or they will deliver to my contact address

I got my passport request January 9,2015. my husband and I already sent it to the embassy.we passed our application august 18,2014 and the sa was November 5..that was bit fast...hoping na magdm na din kami at magka visa.

We had the same problem. So we called the service desk and told them we lost the tracking numbers. They looked it up by name.
