Hello mga nurses... Ako fresh nurse graduate nung nakuha ko ang visa ko nung ini-sponsor kami ng mother ko last 2011... so wala akong working experience. I suggest when you land here in Canada, pumasok kayo sa mga home care/ assisted living (e.g. Good Samaritan) para atleast related sa course at di hamak na mas mataas ang rate (as of now ang alam kong starting is $18+ sa Alberta) kumpara sa mga McDo or Tim Horton's na mimum wage (no offense). Sa ngayon, im working in assisted living and hindi pa ako nakakapagpa assess... wait ko muna dumating yung wife ko bago ko siguro simulan mag asikaso ng mga requirements for assessment ng credentials ko. :P

In BC though, it's a struggle to get a job in the Retirement or Nursing home as a care aide if you don't have a BC HCA registration. In order to get that, you need to have a short course certificate that will cost you around $15k or get a BCIT assessment and obtain your number. But prior to getting that number, you would need to have a relevant working experience as a foreign nurse and once you're finally in, you start as a CASUAL. SUCKS. I wish I lived in Alberta. The Bombays are taking over everything here LOL

Ako nga mcdo e! Haha kailngan p daw kasi magaral ulit (upgrade) para makapagwork ako as Engineer dun.. :(
tama...yan din nbasa ko sa isang forum sa allnurses.com...most of the nurses here in the philippines klangan daw talaga mag take ng bridging program...another gastos na nman. so klangan talaga mag work kahit mcdo pa yan.

dami pala nurses dito...waiting the visa is like waiting for the result of NLE...hay hay hay.... ::) ::)
sinabi mo pa! actually mas matagal and mas mahirap mag hintay ng visa. actually, ito ang pinaka mahirap na ginawa ko sa buong buhay ko. mas madali pa lahat ng exam (modesty aside) kasi hindi ganun ka dami ang involve, kaysa ito. my whole life is on hold at ang asawa ko is getting sick a lot :( hayz...drama rama sa hapon na nman ako. i mean umaga. hahahaha..ok lang yan carry pa rin.

hi guys. I just want to share this thread para po sa mga nurses who want to be enlightened kung pano po magparegister either as RPN or RN sa Canada. you might want to start submitting your application po kasi just for the assessment alone para malaman kung pwede ka magexam or not really takes a while. ito po yung thread.
