Hello... if all of you want to come to Canada.... be like us and speak english....alot of you ask for help in the immgration applications but how can we help you if we can,t read it.... If you all know of the new law as of Oct25/12 no english...no Canadian Citizen....and spend 2 years with your sponsor... you go back.... so if you want to be in our country!!!! speak our way.... hey !!!! it will help you in the long run!!!!I,m about 25 days away from my wifes PPR and both of us are in our 50,s... with no children ... but she only speaks english.... then WELCOME TO CANADA !!!!! you,ll love it.....

be like us and speak english.... We do speak English. Please stop being stereotypical. Besides, all documents submitted any respective visa offices are translated in to English if not actually written in English

IMHO, I think the way you perceive things is a bit too shallow, Mister. I could not even think of at any rational explanation on why you posted such things in this thread. To think you are on your 50's, it's like I'm giving lectures to my own parents. No offense but my parents think more sensibly than you do. Please be sensitive next time. Thank you!

You are abusing your punctuation when all that concerns you is the proper use of the English language. Do not get me wrong. Well finally the passport and visa arrived after nearly a month! Was it CEM's fault? No, wwwexpress (DHL) had the passport since March 1 and didn't deliver it. If that happened in Vancouver instead of Manila, I would be filing a lawsuit against them. Oh well, at least it's done now and my wife can hop the plane and come back to BC. ;D

I'm not condoning Gord's attitude, but he demonstrates the extreme example of the fact that a lot of us English speakers feel the same disappointment and frustration when trying to communicate or find information on this thread. Many of us are going through the Manila office don't understand Tagalog, and a lot of us have expressed our feelings quite nicely except for a few who express themselves in frustration.

I believe that the first time Gord expressed this some members thought it amusing to insult him in Tagalog behind his back, or that's what I thought was happening, since Google translate is terrible between the two languages. I also saw on a facebook group people took screenshots and poked fun at him and some of the other members who expressed the same frustrations. I understand that he's not making any friends here with his attitude. HOWEVER - None of this is fair to the people with "foreigner" spouses, as many of you like to call us, even though each one of us has a spouse that is Canadian or a PR. Despite many people asking nicely and trying to participate, the majority of people continue to speak in Tagalog and whether it's intended or not, it can come across as rude to some people.

I'm trying my best here guys.. we're all desperate for information on this lengthy process. Gord may come across with a bit of xenophobia, but it's just as xenophobic to speak in a language that not all can understand.

I understand where you're coming from and your frustration, as I am also a native English-speaking Canadian. However, I'm afraid I must respectfully disagree with you. This forum was created by Filipinos primarily for discussion with other Filipinos about their stories and problems in getting to Canada. It makes sense that they would use their native language to do so. If we native English speakers would prefer to create our own forum in English to talk about bringing our Filipino spouses to Canada, then we are free to do so. I haven't bothered because, knowing that I was marrying a Filipina, I chose to her learn her language, so marunong ako magtagalog (pero konti lang), which means I know how to speak Tagalog (but only a little). Also, if you have a specific question you need answered, post it in English and I'm sure you will get an answer in English. Or, if the answer is in Tagalog or Taglish, simply ask the poster to repeat the answer in English. Pinoys are among the most helpful people anywhere.

Thank you, Poseidon. Very well said. Ask for an english reply nicely or better yet, create their own thread. Anyone can do that for free for whatever query they might have, a simple and peaceful solution.
