Is AOM the same as Marriage Certificate?

AOM- Advisory on marriage
MC- Marriage Certificate

Magkaiba po sila na document na nanggagaling po mismo sa NSO.

Sa case ko po 14 days po ata yun kasi kasama na po yun ng MC sa akin nun at naka attached lang yung AOM magkasama sila nun 2 copies inorder ko 3 pages each nung natanggap ko 1st page MC 2nd pages yung Judge statory 3rd pages AOM . May mga tao po kasi nag ayos nun sa akin para sa request mga nagwowork sa Municipal Hall na Ninong at Ninang ko sa wedding ang nag ayos lahat kaya di ako nahirapan sa request letter na pinapasa nila sa akin sa LBC papuntang NSO.

ANg galing naman sis! pero sa akin kasi nagendorsement kami sa Marriage Certificate namin after nang wedding namin.Then after 3 weeeks nakuha ko na yung MC dun sa NSO pero hindi ko alam na meron pa lang AOM. Ngayon ko lang nalaman ito kaya kumuha na ako kaagad tapos sabi din naman nila na wala po expiration and AOM.

Good day! po ,, may PPR na po ako today,, paadvise naman po kung may katulad ko na nasa ibang bansa, pwede po bang ipadala na lang sa CEM visa section ung passport at required documents? aware naman po siguro ang CEM na ofw ako,,salamat po

hello everyone! I would like to ask how do I get the Advisory on Marriages document? My husband and I were married here in Canada, so NSO would not have records of our union. I have always been single in the Philippines, so for me , will it be the same as the CENOMAR (certificate of no marriage)? just to prove to immigration that I have no previous marriages? Any reply would help..Thanks in advance!

Yup sis. I would say just request a CENOMAR to at least let them know na you haven't been married in PH. I advise to make a letter to explain why you don't have AOM and for sure they will understand that esp that you provide them a Canadian Marriage cert.

It is just that sending my papers to the Philippines and then back here in Canada is such a time consuming process so I want to make sure.

Hi godsmack0918.

I see two options here.

1. Do as you already suggested. Show the original marriage certificate from Canada to the NSO in Philippines so they can issue you a AOM.
2. Wait for the PPR from CEM. If they require the AOM, they will ask you to submit it along with the passport.

If you have not yet submitted your documents to Missisuaga, I would just send the Original marriage certificate from Canada along with a letter of explanation. While waiting for Sponsor approval, I would acquire the AOM to have it ready upon request from CEM (manila).

If you have already submitted the documents and are waiting for Sponsor Approval or PPR, I would not waste anymore time and just acquire the AOM while waiting. They may or may not ask for it but why take a chance and waste more time.

Either way, I would acquire that AOM sooner rather than later.

You can get a AOM Advisory on Marriage in NSO once you registered your marriage in NSO. You can't ask someone to do it for you . Why ? because for the newly wed and first time you have to get it on person in NSO Q.C for the first MC & AOM documents but if you'll order for another copy delivery is allowed like what I've done before I land here in Canada. Try to call NSO hotline first to get more informations about your case .

CENOMAR- is document for single or singleness
AOM- is a document for married person, once you get this you can't get CENOMAR anymore because you're already married.
