Hi to all here. I would really appreciate some advice and input on my queries so please help naman po. My Canadian husband and I got married last Dec. 2, 2011, i had change all my documents even my passport under my maiden name (i am annulled and my Canadian husband is divorced) before our marriage took place. The ff. are my questions.

* Will I be using my married name now to the Spousal Application (Family Class)? Or I can still use my single name since it is what in my passport?

* I just had my medical exam done in St. Lukes and they based on my passport name.

We're hoping to submit our application by end of this month once i got the NSO copy of our Marriage Certificate. Thank you and God Bless to All.

Hi there!

I think dapat ang ginamit mo na na apelido ay yung sa asawa mo. Hindi yung maiden name mo.

Kelan ka ng apply ng citizenship card ng baby mo? Meron ka na ba? Ako kasi last Nov 23 lang til now wala pa din..

Thanks!

Hi, in my case, since i still have my passport name under my maiden name, un pa din ginamit ko sa forms (since nakalagay dun exactly as it is on ur passport) pero sponsor kasi ako. Ikaw ata is the applicant. But, dun sa form, ung sa may ichcheck if u have other names, i checked yes and put in my married name. I have asked around if this wil be a problem in any way eh hnd naman daw. Sana nga hnd, heheheh ;D

Kung anu yung nsa passport mo yun gamitin mo.. Pero kung gusto mo na gamitin yung married name mo eh change name ka sa lahat ng documents mo.. Ako gamit ko p rin maiden name ko, we just got married last june.. Tagal kasi pagnagpachange name pa ko since im the sponsored applicant..

Been reading lots of appeal cases in Canlii website lately ( http://canlii.org/en/index.php ) and its really educational to have an insight as to how VO's study and analyze sponsorship applications and how they decide whether to dismiss or allow an appeal, lalo na sa mga suspected MOC. pero nakakaparanoid din kasi makikita dun na tlga pa lang napaka critical at detail oriented ng mga VO, it makes me want to recheck again and aigain and again our application , hehe. Try it if u have spare time guys. Better yet, refine your search by "Philippines, marriage, genuine, immigration" and mababasa niyo mga naaappeal na cases from Pinas. :)

I don't know how you can qualify as spouse or whatever if your passport shows that you are single or married to another name. Secondly, previous registered marriages may appear in the certificate of NSO.

Please remember that change in marital status for whatever reason MUST be reported to CIC in writing immediately, and failure to inform CIC of such changes may render you and family members inadmissible to Canada. In fact this does not only apply to you but also to other persons included in the application, if similar changes occur. In your case, wherein you have not yet submitted your application, you could be cited in the future for withholding true information at the time of application. Later on, you may be required to submit more proofs of relationship. Your passport info may cause you problems as to why it does not show that you are married to your sponsor.

Please think this over. Shortcuts could do more harm than good. What a big problem if the info conflicts are discovered (and they will) in the final stage of processing.
