Feb 2012 po ako na-approve to take the RPN exam at nagexam ng May 2012 and fortunately nakapasa po. kaya while waiting po for my RN assessment, im working na po as RPN here. yung result po ng RN assessment ko lumabas after 1 year and 4 months, which is April 2013 po and they referred me to (EHPEA (Centre for the Evaluation of Health Professionals Educated Abroad) for examination. Magbabase po sila sa result ng exam ko sa CEHPEA kung magaaral pa po ako before I can take the CRNE, at kung magaaral man anong subjects ang aaralin pa, or hindi na which means I can take the CRNE right away. they used to do BET a year ago to assess if the nurses are eligible to take the CRNE but just this year they started using CEHPEA examination, which is mas mahirap compared to BET. I don't have schedule pa kung kelan ako mag-exam ng CEHPEA since puno na ang exam date this year, and I think earliest available schedule is March 2014 na po. for further reading about CEHPEA here's the link po: http://www.cehpea.ca/nurses/about.htm
When i submitted po my paper for RN evaluation nung 2011, that time 8+ years po ang hospital experience ko with some masteral units. With regards to nursing experience, kung sa duration or sa area of expertise hindi ko po masasagot kung iyon po ang basehan nila for CRNE eligibility. before po kasi nung BET pa ang ginagamit nagbabase sila sa years of experience at kung meron pong masteral, according to my previous reads. All I know po is that since sobrang dami ng Internationally Educated Nurses (IEN) who want to pursue their career here, the CNO cannot thoroughly assess the applicants' credentials one by one kaya nagbago sila ng system which is the CEHPEA exam. So most (if not all) of the IENs po nirerefer nila sa CEHPEA. Although I've read somewhere na meron pong mga nasa pinas palang na nagpa-asses and ongoing silang nagwo-work pa rin as nurses sa pinas na pinayagan to take he CRNE exam directly without having been referred to CEHPEA.
