I see that many people here already applied. We are about to submit the application, but have one question that I hope someone can answer ASAP:
Regarding the medical check form, it asks for "Name of medical office to which the IMM 5419 is sent to".
I'm not certain what to write in this line...is this the office where I took the medical, or where the test results will be sent? If the latter, where will they be sent, and what do I write there?
Background info: We are applying from the Beijing office (live in Shanghai, but not Chinese), and thus our forms first need to be sent to the immigration office in Mississauga Ontario. We already took the medical test...
Do we send this receipt with the initial sponsor application to Mississauga, or separately to Beijing once we are approved?

That is the visa office location where they will send the medical report to. So if you are processing in Manila. You put the Manila embassy office there. Good luck.

You are quite close in the timeline, it looks to me maybe yours might be just a bit more complicated so just a bit slower. But you should be getting close also. Maybe very close. Patience your time is near

i hope so.. i think wala naman problem sa application namin, and hindi man sila nag request ng additional requirements.. so i guess wala naman po problem right? masyado lang kami excited kaya nakakakaba talaga..

november 8, 2011 ---- application recieved CIC
january 30, 2012 ----- application approved
february 8, 2012------ passport request (letter dated feb, 8)
february 25, 2012----- letter recieved
march 14, 2012------- passport sent

but till now wala pa din update sa ecas.. how bout you? ano timeline mo?

Sorry correction. I see you are in Beijing. If that is your visa office (official Canadian embassy) that is what you use. Sorry if I confused you I read your statement to quickly.

Hi guys ngayon ko lang po nabasa mga post nyo dito dahil nagreview ako for exams and nakita ko na madami na din may DM and change of address so ngayon na nasa school ako di ako mapakali and i checked ecas.. nag change na din address ng hubby ko!! yung address po sa dito sa Canada yung nakalagay.. sobrang saya ko po!! sana good news na next week and tuloy tuloy na sa DM...let's just keep on praying..

Congratulations po sa lahat ng may DM and update sa ecas.. This is it Guys!! woohoo...

As I understood, I should send all applications, documents, criminal record checks, pictures to Canada Immigration office and they will send them back to Beijing visa office after my husband's sponsorship approved??? They will not ask me to send them to Beijing visa office again (coz i have only one copy each of my documents).

If you are just starting the process. First I suggest you check and double check the list of requirements and also local requirements for Chinese applicants. Some countries have special requirements. Make sure you have EVERYTHING on the list and file everything together in your application. Suggest also include payment for BOTH steps if possible. This will avoid some delays. Make sure you follow the requirements exactly. Go to the extra work now to make sure you have everything they require. If everything is sent to Mississauga, they process the sponsorship part. When that is complete they will forward the rest to embassy in Beijing. Your medical, do it now up front before filing. Include the medical receipt in with the application. You don't have to wait for results if you are quite sure there are no medical problems. The medical doc forwards your results to the visa office you list on the official form (sorry can't remember the form number by memory) So make sure you put "Canadian embassy Beijing" as the destination for medical results.

Yes most official documents you receive only one copy of. However, I recommend you take photocopies of everything in case something goes wrong so you can always prove you have completed them and forwarded them to CIC. You never know if something may go missing or may need to prove something. Its possible embassy may request an update of this form or the other. So always be prepared in case they ask for documents, to get the documents and forward on to them. Just part of the process. Medical is good for one year and hopefully you arrive in Canada before then or you are required a new medical. If that happens, just the process we must go to for eventual success.

Hope that helps, and good luck with the process. Patience will be required. Being thorough and complete will get you the best fastest results.
