Hello everyone, thanks for reading this far!

Im Canadian, my spouse is American and is presently on a visitor visa in Canada with our baby and I. We are debating whether or not to apply inland or outland.
AFAIK inland keeps here even if she does not work but she needs to extend her visitor status, and leaving the country is frowned upon.... likely no re-entry at the border?
And for outland, she would have to return to the USA, but how different is it for her at the border entering Canada? Im confused on why an inland American applicant gets refused upon reentry at the border while an inland application is in play.

Comments anyone?

Hi everyone I have a few questions, hopefully the experts here can give me some info:

I am a Canadian working in Asia and met my boyfriend there, he is a Korean holding dual citizenship - South African passport & Korean passport. We are planning to get marry later this year and move back to Canada.

My questions:
1. Is there any implication which passport he should be using for the spouse visa application?
2. Or he must declare he has dual citizenships?
3. If South African passport is his primary passport (he just obtain the Korean passport a few years back), can he use Korean passport to apply?
4. Is it true that South African passport is a bit more difficult to obtain the spouse visa than the Korean one?
5. If he was working in the police force in South Africa, will it be an issue?
6. Is there any timeframe we should apply the spouse visa after the marriage? If we apply it the next day after marriage, will it be ok? or I should wait for a few months before we go ahead?
7. Normally how long is the validity to activate the spouse visa? i.e. if the spouse visa is granted, how many months we can stay in Asia before we return back to Canada? Is it 6 months?

Thank you so much for your help.

am PGP applicant . I have submitted medical PCC and fingerprints 3 month ago and my ecas online status is still showing "in process". What is happening to me. Can anyone tell me that how long will it take to get "decisionmade".

Hi everyone, what is the current average time for receiving your PR card after landing? Just wondering whether the 61 days that I'm seeing online is fairly accurate.

Hi Good Day! I don't know if I do have a the same situation with the previous post here. I am currently holding a student permit that was given to me May 2016 with a validity till August 2018, but I did not continue to go to school I have not even started even one semester due to budget issues. I decided to apply for a job that offers lmia or sinp I was able to get an employer who offers sinp but the application was denied. So I tried to apply for another employer and I found one and he is offering an LMIA. The LMIA application is still on going we have no result yet and I am currently on my 1 year and 2 months of holding a student permit. I have a girlfriend I dated for almost a year now and she is a permanent resident we are a little worried about the LMIA application cause it's almost 7 months already since we applied and no reply yet from the government. So we were thinking of getting married and apply for a spousal sponsorship but we don't know where to start. First of, am I allowed to apply for a pr if I am only holding a student permit but did not went to school for some reason? Second, if my pr application is accepted will I be able to apply for an open work permit while waiting for the result? Please help. Me and my girl are running out of time we don't wanna be on a long distance relationship anymore.

Hi, I am sponsoring my wife who lives outside of Canada. I was going to submit my whole documents and suddenly noticed that they have new version of IMM1344 and IMM0008. I prepared all documents with uptodate document checklist except these two forms. These two forms are with old versions. Now the problem is if my wife has to resend them from home country it will take another couple of weeks. Can anyone give some feedback what I should do now?

can we sponsor wife and dependent child after getting PR but while studying in college or univ in canada?

Wait for the new forms.

Hi !

I also just realized that the form IMM1344 had been updated.
Now for the questions "Relationship to the principal applicant" we can choose between
- Spouse living inside Canada
- Spouse living outside Canada

Considering that I'm living in Canada but I want to apply outland, what should we pick ?!

In the old form it was simply "Spouse" with no distinction
