Quick question, if you have submitted your application for sponsorship (Outland) for your sponsor, is there any travel restrictions for them?

For example, they can't enter Canada as a visitor? Or the amount of time that the sponsor can be away from the country?

Please advise as any information will be helpful.

If the sponsor is a Canadian citizen, s/he can leave Canada at any time and for any length of time.

If the sponsor is only a PR of Canada, they must remain in Canada for the duration of the process, although a short trip (maybe a week or so) is usually not a problem.

The applicant can certainly attempt (or apply for a visa, if needed) to enter Canada as a visitor.

Hi,

Can someone walk me through Nadra/NICOP process to register marriage, that I have to attach to the forms?

I have a marriage ceritifcate. My hubby in Pakistan will apply for the FRC at Nadra.

1.) He will need a new NICOP in english? Correct?
2.) I will MODIFY my existing NICOP through online (I am Canadian and the sponsor, living in Canada)? Correct?

Anything I am missing?

Thank you.

My friend who is on ODSP lives in Toronto. He is going to India to get marry his finance in July this year.
Can someone tell me, what are the recent requirements to sponsor if someone who is on ODSP and the documents he needs to bring with him when he go there?
I found this site is very useful. If someone could explain this, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
Rivan

He can certainly apply to sponsor her. Technically being on ODSP does not prevent him from qualifying as a sponsor. Having said that, we have seen a few cases here where ODSP sponsor applications were refused since CIC was concerned the sponsor wouldn't be able to support the applicant without relying on further social assistance. So your friendl should ideally provide evidence of how he plans to support his new spouse without relying on more government assistance.

Thank you so much for your quick reply!

But if he is unable to work due to his physical disability...How can he work?
Any advice on how to complete the application - Please walk me through? Any marriage certificate/documents he has to get here in Ontario?
Anyone who is on this site went through the same situation recently, and have filed their spousal application successfully and accepted by CIC?
Please kindly let me know.

Thanks.

You may not be able to work - but she can. Is she working now? Can she show proof of that? Does she plan to work once in Canada?

Search for the word "ODSP" on the forum to find threads with situations similar to yours.

Any advice on the below scenario -

I just became a Canadian citizen last month and I will be officially divorced in May as per the court. Already I have been separated from last year Feb 2016.

Is it OK to marry someone who is also a divorcee from India and sponsor a PR application immediately ?

Will it raise any doubts to the visa officer that divorce in may, marriage in June and PR application in July ?

Since the PR process is so long can I sponsor a Visitor Visa ? Will that fail or raise any doubts or show an urgency in coming here ???

Need your advise or suggestions on how to go with this......

Thanks.

Thank you Ponga, I am a Canadian Citizen and my husband is German. He can enter Canada as a visitor, will there be a restriction for him to enter Canada once our application is being processed.

Thank you all for the help I have been getting in this forum. Thank you very much, I have a difficutly right now....At first I paid for the Sponsorship fee ($75), and principal applicant processing fee ($475). I got a receipt for that. I then sent my app. But my app got returned for missing documents. I have completed all and now about to send it back, but only this time I would also like to pay for the right of permanent residence fee ($490) and send the two receipts. The problem is that on the CIC site I dont see any where how I can only pay for right of permanent residence fee ($490). Can anyone help. Thanks in advance

Hi everyone! I just wanted to ask something.. I haven't yet submitted my AOM though it was included on AOR2 that it is part of requirements. Our consultant told us that it's fine as long as we have the cenomar as it is not included in the checklist.. Now I see that most of the applicant have received an email requesting for that document.. I haven't received an email yet requesting that document. Now my question is, should I submit it now even without request OR should I wait for another email to come? Please help..

Hi, I'm October 2016 applicant. I've got my AOR2 and I see no progress being made in my application ever since after the file transfer to NDO. When I can expect my visa?
