Question: I am married since Feb 14, 2013 with no kids. My spouse got PPR on May 8, 2016. So, will she get Condition 51 on her COPR?

Thanks in advance.....

According to CIC webpage your wife may not get condition 51 .

The date of PPR doesn't matter. You were married for less than 2 years on the date you applied, so you will have Condition 51.

Cond 51, is something which John McCallum have promised to be removed. I think changes could come on spouse sponsorship sometime this year.

hi :)

I have a question.

Me and wife we have a lot of conversation on facebook, email, etc.

But it is in japanese or japlish.

I know that important documents have to be translated by a professional, but what about conversations ?
Is it essential ? Can I translate it myself ?

I have seen few others who have translated themselves. If providing conversations, give them a snap shot from every month or so, and not the whole conversation. In my case I sometimes communicate with my wife in Spanish. We translated it ourselves in those cases - but again on chat conversations only.

ok ! Thank you.

Yes, I tried to have the date and everything. Old messages are important.

But the conversation... oh my god do we look stupid ???

CIC will have a good time reading us.

CIC wouldnt read the whole conversation i am sure. I have contacted some lawyers as well, who did ask me to keep the conversation history pages short. So i took printout of conversation for a single day every 2-3 months. The conversation itself was 22 pages or so, put 4 pages in a single sheet....

Other thing we did is to include photos taken through skype/facetime to show that we have been communicating through online as well.

Hi everyone!

I was looking at our country specific instructions and it requires we submit 4 photos. We took the 4 photos at a photo studio but they stamped every single one. I'm just reviewing everything now and realized that only 1 photo should have had the photo studio name and date. Do you think it will be a problem that all 4 photos have been stamped and dated?

Thanks in advance!

We had to submit 8, we are applying through Warsaw. We also only needed 1 stamped, but of course all of them were. I think they only say that to make sure that at least one is taken by a passport studio place so its not just cut and paste from your cellphone for example. Don't worry at all about it!

I'm in Canada and I'm sponsoring my husband from the USA. I hope it doesn't end up being a problem. Thank you for your help!

Good to hear. I figured it was a small issue but with how stressful this application is, I didn't want to overlook a any small detail. Thank you so much!

Hello all,

My mother-in-law has written a letter of support for my wife's PR application, describing our relationship and her wholehearted support of the two of us. The letter is written in Chinese. Is it okay for my wife to translate this into English, or should we have hire someone to translate this document and produce an affidavit from the translator? We have done the latter for all her official documents, but are unsure if we need to do this for this much more personal letter.

Thanks!

Hi Dears,
i have one info. and Question please , if you may share me your opinions , after i share you my experience ,
i applied as single for Quebec immirgation mid of 2011, got married in in end of 2013 but did not declare or update my marital status to BIQ , thinking i can sponsor my wife later after landing to Quebec normally (i was soo ignorant), as i am a sole requestor of CSQ, even i got the CSQ (as Single) with no interview in 2015 , and we got a new baby born just after CSQ issue by 1 month, though in the end of 2015, after i applied for myself only of course for federal stage (security and Medial) , i knew i can nevvvverrrr evverrrr sponsor my wife and baby later if not declared to immigration Authorities before Visa issue and landing, so immediately i communicated (by phone) with BIQ to tell them i am married from 2 years , and have a baby (Both not Accompanying) so i can update my file and Marital status , they asked me to send letter (to immigration Quebec) with all status , to show me exactly what do,
So i sent the letter with all data and advice needed for steps to take , but they did not replied , so i kept sending lots of mails to BIQ , till i received the Reply mail crystal clear finally that i should declare the Wife and Baby ASAP to CIC (for Security and Medical), and no need now to communicate or update, or change marital status in Immigration Quebec as both wife and baby are not accompanying me, so no CSQ will be Required for them now,
I communicated with CIC indeed , adding them in federal stage , already medical requested and it is going normal now,
so please , could you highlight to me your Opinions please , now sponsorship is applicable ? , no any other steps or precautions i should take or be aware of, related to BIQ or CIC ?

Many Many thanks..
