This is completely misleading (and wrong) advice and does not apply to the situation of the individual you responded to. Being already married is only a problem if you try to get married again. This individual is in a common law relationship while still being married. There's no issue with this and we've had many people processed successfully in this situation. It's not bigamy.

Hi all, I have a question about updating information with CIC

I'm in Canada and applying outland (Ottawa office, just got SA). When I filed the PR app I had applied for an extension of the work permit I already had and was waiting for it to arrive.

I now have the extension but do I need to inform CIC/Ottawa office (as this changes the date I my status in Canada is valid to compared to when I filed the the PR app)?

You first need to have your fingerprints taken and placed onto the FBI FD-258 card. I suggest you have two sets taken, just in case there's a problem with one or more of the prints from the first card.

You then send the card(s), along with the FBI form to their office in West Virginia. The cost is $18 (USD) and it takes about 13-15 weeks to get the results.

Even though the FBI uses approved 3rd party Channelers, to expedite the process, CIC will NOT accept letters from Channelers.
You must make your request directly with the FBI.

Thanks for the information. Since it takes 13-15 weeks. I do have the rest of the documentation ready. Can i submit the application with a letter explaining the delay with FBI processing taking 15 weeks ?(its more than 3 months). ?

Hi permission to post. I would like to know about the UCI number. I have Visitor's Visa way back 2012. My question is where can I find my UCI number in my Visitor's Visa so that I could use to check my Spousal application.

As far as I know, based on what I've read here and other immigration site, and also from others applicants experience, you CAN submit your app by providing them a letter of explanation why you didn't include your FBI yet. It takes while for FBI and I myself did the same thing, although it's not FBI, I was waiting for a police cert from an Island and it took a month so I provided them with a letter of explanation and receipt as a proof that I had them done and just waiting for the certificate. Tho it sucks coz the very next day after sending my app, the certificate I was waiting for was in the mailbox lol.

Where do I specify that it is an outland (outside of Canada application)

I want to apply outland and my partner is from Korea so the processing office is in Manilla... where do I specify this?
