I received a letter from CIC today asking for "what is my current country of residence" This informations is used in the "reassessment of medicals, since your medicals have expired"

Does anyone know why they didn't just ask us for re-medical?

And I thought we can get medical exam anywhere in the world so what does it matter where we live?

It's presumably so they can determine whether there's any particular health risks associated with where you've been living since you took your medical.

If you're living somewhere with good healthcare and a low risk of catching any diseases they're more likely to just extend your medical.

If since your medical you've been living somewhere with poor healthcare and possibly a high rate of disease they're more likely to ask for a remedical to make sure you haven't developed any health issues since your original tests.

Hello Guys, I have an inquiry in the same context ..just wanted to be sure of something....

I am a Canadian citizen and I have an inquiry regarding sponsoring my husband's PR.
we got married 5 years ago and haven't been living in Canada since ( I don't have a permanent address ). I'm currently not employed, and haven't been employed before, either inside or outside Canada, as I'm financially dependent to my husband. therefore I don't have an income ..

My Inquiry :
- in my case; is providing a proof of income, or employment, mandatory for the sponsorship eligibility? ( can my application for sponsorship be refused/rejected because I don't have an income or not employed ?). if Yes, is there an alternative way ?.
- can my husband (himself) be my co-signer ?, so as his income to be considered instead of mine ?.
- can my parent ( Canadian citizen) be my co-signer ?, so as his income to be considered instead of mine ?.

Thanks in advance for your prompt reply.

Good Day All,

I have a problem with my Qatar Police Clearance, I called the Qatari Embassy in Ottawa and they said that my police clearance would probably be released in 6 months.

Question: Can I submit my expired police clearance from Qatar (issued October 2014)? I've never been to Qatar since 2012.

Thanks a lot

Hi there! Do non accompanying dependants need to do an upfront medical? My relative is marrying a canadian and she has 2 kids from her previous spouse. The spouse won't cooperate though. I am doing their paperworks but I'm not sure how to handle the two non accompanying dependants issue. Do they have to sign a form that they aren't coming with my aunt and will instead stay with their dad? My aunt is in canada and the kids are in the philippines.

If we did not include photos of the non accompanying dependants, would the application be returned? Thank you!

Is the pr fee for inland spousal application 475+75?

Yes, since CIC has changed/relaxed the rules regarding police certificates:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/infORmation/security/police-cert/intro.asp

For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country.

Yes your aunt needs to include the non accompany dependents. They both need an upfront medical and photos. Yes the application will definitely take longer or be returned without the correct information. Then you add the 490 for pr but that can be paid at a later date.

Ponga,

Thank you so much for your advice. have a great day.

I am currently in Canada (BC) with multiple entry visitors visa, I exit Canada every 5 months since I came here last October 2014, Question: Is it correct that I am not required to submit a police clearance from BC since I do not live here for 6mos continuously.

Thanks again

I'm sponsoring my wife and she has her child accompanying her. I have the fathers approval / signed permission for his son to come to Canada with his mother.

Does the IMM 5604 document apply? or is his signed letter enough? it says non-accompanying, not sure what that is about.

You're welcome.

Even if you were living in Canada for 6 months or more, a PCC is not required from Canada unless CIC specifically asks you for one.

Since you leave Canada every 5 months, does that mean that you submitted an Outland application?

Ponga,

Again Thank you and Yes I will apply for Outland. I am almost done gathering the required documents and hope we can submit the application first week of November. My visitors visa is valid only until January 30,2016 and I am planning to apply for an extension and I hope it will be approve. Do you think I should mention that I will apply for Spousal Sponsorship when I send the application for the extension of my visa? amd do you know how many months they usually extend the visa?

You cannot have a co-signer in spousal applications. There is not minimum income required, but you need to convince CIC that you will not require social assistance to support yourselves. You might have a more difficult time, since you haven't lived in Canada in 5 years, and have not been employed. You would need to show your plan, so your husband's ability to find a job once he becomes a PR, and if you have any support from your family, that would help as well.
