you mentioned some canadian applications take longer than a year... are those reason the same as you mention above? I was actually asking about the canadian process. or does your office not handle canada applications?

We have handled a few but most of them are for the Fiance Visa.

i meant CIC applications. not canadians looking to immigrate to the us.... do you have any experience with CIC applications for sponsorship and know of reasons why some applications are delayed?

canadians looking to immigrate to Canada ??????? The only experience I have with CIC is my husbands application that we sent to Mississauga in April. From what I have read on this forum many of the reasons for applications being delayed are the same in Canada and the US. The main difference being the US has a Finace visa so an already married couple does not have to wait apart.

I sure wish I had some insight that I could pass on. All I can say from experience in the US is
Research thoroughly
Read instructions several times...don't skim through them
Triple check everything you do including signature pages
Be truthful
Copy everything before you send in your application
Ask questions on this forum if you are unsure, No question is silly

Hi every one,

1) I have a question again, anyone can please share me ? Under the SPONSORED SPOUSE/PARTNER QUESTIONNAIRE number 27) Have you and your sponsor lived together? '' Yes or No'' If i answered ''yes'' Give dates of periods of cohabitation. Just wondering because his first visit was 2013 for just 7 days and second visit was this year and we got married on march and we stayed together for 42 days before he flew back to canada . Is these considered living together ? 29) Are you living with someone other than your sponsor? Just confused because i am living in an appartment provided from our boss as I am working now together with 3 female collector. Is this mandatory ?
2) About ADDITIONAL FAMILY INFORMATION it says TYPE or PRINT but my doubt is the space provided is very small to complete the address ? Can i use abbreviation ? Or provide another sheet of paper? Any suggestion please?
3)Under SCHEDULE A BACKGROUND / DECLARATION question number 7)''EDUCATION'' Give the number of years of school you successfully completed for each of the following levels of Education.
ELEMENTARY / PRIMARY = 6
SECONDARY/ HIGHSCHOOL= 4
UNIVERSITY/COLLEGE 1.5
TRADE SCHOOL OR OTHER POST SECONDARY SCHOOL ??
I'm bit confused to compare this question UNDER GENERIC APPLICATION FORM FOR CANADA about EDUCATION / OCCUPATION DETAIL question number 2) Numbers of years of education in total
I had my 1 year kindergarten and irregular 2nd year college so it looks like this 1 day care + 6 Elementary + 4 Highschool + 1.5 College .
I'm confused but i want to know .
Thank you so much everyone and im waiting your answer.
GOD BLESS TO ALL OF US .

Hi Guys,

I have a question for you regarding Quebec sponsorhips. I sponsoring via outland my wife from Colombia. In the meantime she would like to come to Montreal with her TRV and study french. I have some questions maybe you can help me:

1. Does anybody know about a francisation place in Montreal that is not so expensive?
2. With the AOR can she apply to the government french classes? is the CSQ mandatory for the french classes?

I'd appreciate any help with this topic, thanks in advance,

regards!

Yesterday I had to do my medical again. Fortunately it is the last thing they need from me so once it has been processed I should get a DM. My question is, how long does it normally take to process a medical for my type of app (pr via spousal sponsorship)? The Dr. told me it takes 4 months, is that true?

Thanks,

AOR-Sep 20, 2012 - CIC confirmed receipt 12/6/12
AIP- Mar 8, 2013 (OWP received with letter)
FBI letter sent Nov 2012 (no acknowledgement from CIC though) re-sent and accepted 4/16/14
Fingerprints sent Mar 2013 (no acknowledgement of receipt either) re-sent and accepted 5/12/14
Medical records sent and received (March 2013-expired) Medical redone 5/15, awaiting results

I believe it will take the same time but make sure to add your child to your app. if you happen to have him/her before your app. gets finalized. Btw, congrats in advance.

Can anyone help me with this:

This is for inland common law partner sponsorship.

Sent Application on November 18th
Received confirmation on 25th December

When I check progress it says the following:

We received your application to sponsor X on November 19, 2013.

We started processing your application on December 24, 2013.

Now does this mean it's actually being processed as this goes against what they say on their website about working on July?

Additional info on my application:

They also requested some additional information as I left some dates out by mistake about employment, these had to spent by 22nd February which they were and I checked via postal tracking and they received that. Also received letter saying my file had been transferred to Mississauga.

I have an issue. My parents are in Canada in visitors visa. My sister from US took their passports to the US and the original plan was to get the passport from my sister when they visit us in July. But now that my parents wants to travel to the US. Can my sister send the passport via courier from US to Canada? or can we send it through one of our friends?? Please advise…

Thanks
