When you are sponsoring someone and stage 1 is approved, what would you include for TRV application package for the applicant?

1. Required Application Forms
2. Invitation Letter from Sponsor in Canada
3. Stage 1 approval letter from CIC
4. Affidavit from applicant stating he/ she will return after visiting Canada (include in the later family ties, job obligation etc.)
5. Letter from applicant's employer stating that the applicant is granted leave for a month or so and that he/she is expected to join after leave of absence
6. Financial statements of applicant showing he/she is well off in his/her home country

Anything else?
If s/he owns any property in their home country or has any dependants, include that too.

Also, a return ticket if you buy them beforehand.

I have one question I received email from visa section Abi Dhabi on feb 06,2013 for document request (police clearance) and they said we will send you personal form and letter request in ur mailing address. I am in KSA, just wondering how come my mail is so delay am so worried I email Abu Dhabi but no reply what should I do?
If you have not received it by 6 March (next week) I would send them a response indicating you had not yet received the written correspondence.

Can some one suggest me cheapest and best shipping companies internationally? Its not a huge luggage, mostly books, DVDs, some utensils etc. Dont think it will be more than 50kgs. Also appreciate if you can suggest the best way to transport such items??

Thanks

Most people coming from Asia just use regular post for things like clothing and personnal effects. For things like furniture I think there would be many shippers from whom you could get space inside a container.

On form IMM 0008 Generic Application it says for the person being sponsored to list "All family members whether they will accompany you to Canada or not.." So does that mean my wife needs to provide all the information about her parents and brother?? Even though they don't have plans to go to Canada?? This also affects my 5481 form where it requires me to list the number of people under "Current Undertaking"

question 2: I've just been working as an English tutor in Korea for the past few months, I've only made a few thousand dollars and don't have a full-time job. We live with my wife's brother who pays for housing... Will my lack of income affect our application??

Your wife as the applicant needs to provide her family information (parents & siblings). Make sure your wife provides all information, it does not matter who will come to Canada or not. If she hides anything, it will be huge problem in the future.

You are only undertaking your wife's responsibility (and if she has any dependent children), not anybody else.

I am assuming, you are a Canadian citizen living in Korea. When you apply, you have to show what is your plan after moving back in Canada. You don't have to have a job letter from a Canadian employer (but it will help you a lot), but you will need to write a plan about how you plan to support your wife once you move to Canada with her. For sponsoring spouse, their is no minimum income requirement. But again, all has to make sense to the visa officer. Remember, you have to say, what is your plan after moving back to Canada. You are responsible for financial situation for your wife.

That seems to be a popular option and cheaper than shipping. As long as you have an address at this end to send it to.

What country are you in? You might have to travel a ways to get the exam done.

The search worked for me. It lists a single Panel Physician in Azerbaijan. He is in Baku:

Ibrahim Seidov
Western Medical / Turkish-American Medical Centre,
Mardanov Gardashlari 41 / 47
AZ1014

Phone: (994-50) 213 13 87

But keep in mind you can have the examination done anywhere in the world - by any Panel Physician authorized by CIC.

You need to submit a complete application. When you look through the application, make sure that you view it from the perspective of a CIC officer - jaded, convinced that one out of six applications is fraudulent. With that mindset, do you find the application persuasive? If not, you have work to do. If so, have someone else review it and see what they think.

You have to convince the officer of two things: (1) that you won't require social assistance. A job does help, but is not a requirement here. (2) That you have a genuine relationship.

Everything else is just a matter of statutory compliance - medicals, police clearance, complete history, no criminal issues, no security problems.

Ideally, you want the officer to pick up your file, go through it and conclude "genuine relationship, no other issues, everything is done" and say "ready for visa". In the notes for my application the first officer that picked it up did reach that determination. Because I had a prior refusal, my file was referred to a senior officer. Because I was challenging that refusal (and likely to win) that senior officer looked at it just a few days later and concluded the same thing - and this time said that the basis of the refusal didn't matter for this application. Thus I was approved and the file shipped off to LA.

The key seems to be "make sure it's complete and persuasive". Don't leave anything out, don't send things in "after the fact".
Thanks computergeek!
I have successfully sent in my application.
You are amazing help!
