Spousal sponsorship

I cant search in 528 page, I looked in about 50 pages , I found some answers close my answers, But not exactly identical

anyway this is my inquiries :

1- Generic Application Form for Canada [IMM 0008] , question no.3 "" Indicate the total number of family members included in your application. This includes yourself and any family members, regardless of whether they intend to accompany you to Canada or not.""

I confused about this question knowing that my family members is 3 , me, my wife, and my little son , Assuming that my wife is my sponsor and my son is a Canadian also
Please tell me what to write in this box :1, 2 or 3 ?????

2- In the same form (0008) they ask about Dependant(s) > they say , you must provide all the following details about each of your family members, you must include your spouse and all of your dependent children, and those of your spouse , who already permanent resident or citizen of Canada
Please tell me what to do ؟؟

I am assuming your wife and your son are already in Canada and it is your wife who is sponsoring you. In that case, you are the Applicant. Form IMM 0008 is filled out only by the Applicant. Since only you are applying for permanent residence visa in Canada, the answer for Q 3 in Form IMM 0008 is 1! (of course I am also assuming you do not have any other children that is with you in the country you resides)

your assuming is right and i havent any child in my country , but
what about the Dependant(s) information! in the same form ( 0008 ) !Should I fill out this form box ?

Your son is already in Canada (and a Permanent residence or citizen). This question asks you to write your dependent children who is NOT a Canadian permanent residence or citizen. So, most likely, this does not apply to you. So, you can remove this section.

I would ask you to wait for another member's confirmation on this though.

Agreed, if your son is a PR or a citizen, he is not mentioned on the IMM0008. He will however be mentioned on your additional family information form.

Exactly, in the family information form you have to give all information about your son.

hi,,, I received an email from the embassy,,,, they just sent me an email saying that my file is in queue to be reviewed by an immigration officer...
and the applicant would be notified of the next steps..... does this mean the background checks are over????

Be complete and accurate

Complete all sections. If a section does not apply to you, write “Not Applicable” or “NA”. If your application is incomplete it may be returned to you and this will delay the processing of your application.

On the IMM 5481 Sponsorship Evaluation page 2 Questions 5. B) i) to 6. B) do I enter NA in ALL of the boxes since none of these blanks are applicable to me since I only have myself (1) and (1) one current undertaking in 5. A) (for a total of 2)

This are number box(es). So you can enter 0. (that's what I did and I got stage 1 approval)

No, it means they are about to look at your file.

It have been 3 weeks since that the CIC in Vg. Finished processing my application for family class sponsorship.They told me that the CIC in Ottawa will contact me but still nothing yet.I don't know,I didn't think it would of take that long .

Yes, if he finds an employer who applies for an LMO for him and gets it and he then applies for a work permit and get it, he can work. He could also look into applying for a working holiday visa if he's the right age, see https://www.whpcanada.org.au/

In Box 3 of form IMM 0008, the number is only 1. So, in Form IMM 5481 5 A) is 1 but 5 B) all boxes are 0. 6 A) & B) is 0. So, total of 4, 5 & 6 is


Goodman: Thank you for your response, I understand that part now. One more question, on page 2 of from 5481 it asks for "Details of family members and persons included in undertakings in effect or not yet in effect" because it's just myself applying to sponsor my wife and I have no previous undertakings or anything, then for all questions on page 2 I can just put N/A??
