Separate would be better as you do not want it together mixed up

Are you applying inland or outland?

If you are applying outland - then unfortunately your husband won't qualify for an open work permit.

If you are applying inland - then you'll need to include the open work permit application with the sponsorship application. Note that he won't be approved for the open work permit until the application has received first stage approval. First stage approval currently takes 11 months.

inland -- and from what i was told first stage and approval on open work permit would only take 3-4 months then 11+ months for the actual application for pr ??

OWP is issued once you receive AIP -That is first stage processing and CIC's website still reports this as being 11 months. The second stage requires 8 months (for 80% of applicants).

so should i apply for am extension on his current permit in the meantime ?? He is just afraid he wont get the extension because he was only allowed to work for 1 employer which was specified on his work visa, but left half way thru to work for another , and never changed it with immigration. so extension or open work permit with pr app? or both ?

Now you have a problem - he has been working illegally in Canada. His work permit is specific to the employer and by working for a different employer he has violated the law. My advice is to find a good attorney and discuss this issue with her, because you have a serious potential issue.

RE: Photos

Thanks to epilobium and ashunandal, I now have a better idea what to include. In fact, I have collated close to 190+ photos of our outings, marriage...etc, etc....now I'm going to develop it and include in my applications.

Have a great day! And good luck to all.

Hello,

I'm just wondering what the implications are if I have a common law application in process and I end up getting married? If like to submit an application very soon while my marriage is scheduled for summer 2013.

Thanks!

You were provided with incorrect information. 11 months is the duration for step 1 and the open work permit (they are currently working on applications received September 20, 2011). Step 2 is officially listed as an additional 8 months. See the second table on the page below (Person to be sponsored lives in Canada):
