Hi all, just a quick question for anyone who knows. Once the applicants current address changes to the sponsors on e-cas, how long before you would get you COPR? my last email said file is ready for finalization which I received on the 31st of july. & yesterday I noticed the address change, not sure exactly when it was done but in the last week I'm guessing. Thx for any info.

What could be potential scenarios/reasons for not getting back ( delay compared to rest of the folks from the same office) of the Passport with the VISA and COPR for the applicant in New Delhi after a DM shows up on ECAS.

No interview asked, went straight from Application Rcvd to DM.

No additional documents requested either. Address on ECAS shows correctly for both the sponsor and the applicant.

ND High commission usually sends it back within 5-8 days of the DM on ECAS, its been over 15 days now for us and no correspondence from them yet. ECAS usually starts to show the canadian city, province of the sponsor in Canada on the applicant side on ECAS after a DM. That has not happened yet for us.

Post office says no post was received either...

Please advise.

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if you know what information GCSM note has and if requesting it delays processing time? Thank you.

Hey guys,
I sponsored my husband and his file got transferred to the Cairo visa office. They sent me an email that they need his passport, then they confirmed the reception of the passport , then I emailed them asking when the visa will be issued they told me on the 8th of August. Today the 9th, I received an email from them as follows :

Dear xxxxxx,

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

Kindly note that a technical problem came up while issuing your visa. You will be informed as soon as this issue is solved by our office in Ottawa. Note that we are unable to confirm that passport will be ready by Monday.

(I told them before that we need my husband's passport before the 16th cuz he has his ticket booked by then :S).
anyways, I was just wondering has this occured with any of u guys?
Thanks

A technical issue has to do with them, I assume. Maybe machine problem etc. It doesn't sound like it has to do with you however you never know with immigration.

Hello everyone,

I am looking for an answer. I have received a Confirmation of PR, it was couriered to me(my husband's house, I live here for now) from Poland to Canada (I am from Visa Exempt country that is why passport visa was not needed). What is my next step? Do I still need to cross the border, or I can go an get PR card here without re-crossing the border. I have tried 5 times to call CIC and cannot get hold of them. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

If you are from a visa exempt country, they will send you a letter COPR, and will not need passport. You just use the letter when you travel and when you land they will tell you everything you need to know and sent your pr card at a later date to your address.

Thanks,

But I am already in Canada now, and COPR was couriered to Canada from Poland. Do I need to go to border to finish the process or I can do in Canada somewhere (Service Ontario, Canada building)?

You have to go either to the border or to the airport which ever is closer to land.

I would say call and speak to a Border Officer before travelling to the Border, so far they have been most helpful and accurate with info. Service Ontario is a different story :(

Congrats by the way! You are almost done!
