Hello everyone!

I submitted my inland spouse/family class application, and my wife recently received an email stating that the application has been received. However, I’m not entirely sure if this counts as the official Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR). The message mentions that anyone who hasn’t paid the biometrics fee should do so. I’ll share some screenshots below.

I’m also trying to figure out what to do about my biometrics. Although I paid the biometrics fee and included the receipt when I submitted my application, I have not received a biometrics instruction letter yet. On the online status tracker, the biometrics field shows “in progress,” but I haven’t received any further instructions. Should I just wait for the request letter, or should I try to provide my biometrics now? I’m worried that IRCC might not have linked the fee to my application.
I’ve attached screenshots of the email and the status tracker.

If you have any explanations or advice about these issues, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you so much!

Pictures are here. (Mail and tracker screen shots)
it’s AOR and the biometric fee is just a general reminder
wait for the instruction letter

Yes, you need to submit the application when you are in Canada.

Thanks for the reply. That sucks, she applied for visitor and got rejected couple of months back. so once i come back and apply for the spousal PR, can i also apply a visitor visa for her citing her PR application in the cover letter. like a dual intent visitor visa ? as visitor visa shows processing of 4 months and 10 months for PR

You can, yes. It's generally recommended you wait for the AOR (acknowledgement of receipt) before re-applying for the TRV, as that way it should be seen as related to the spousal sponsorship.

I have few questions regarding my wife’s application.

* We submitted her inland sponsorship file, after getting AOR submitted her OWP as well. She’s currently on visitor record. We have a travel plan in April, 2025 for few days to US (We can go to US and come back to Canada by Land border.)

Now my questions are:

1. If her OWP gets approved, can we travel to US while her Inland spousal sponsorship file is still under process?

2. If yes do we need to apply for visa or we can travel and come back with OWP only?

3. Does this travel affect her PR file?

Thanks..

I'm waiting for review of proof of medical/address change. Any information on similar case??

IRCC issued MIl on 15 Dec and asked for proof of medical/change in address information on 18 Dec, which was uploaded same day. They acknowledged additional documents, medical was passed 25 Dec on gckey/tracker. But now gckeys mentions "13 Jan, we are reviewing additional documents you provided us."

Timeline:
Submitted: 05 Nov
AOR: 28 Nov
BIL and MIL: 03 Dec and 15 Dec
BIL and MIL completed on tracker: 09 Dec and 25 Dec
PA/Sponsor Eligibility completed on tracker & pre-arrival: 11 Dec and 12 Dec
BG in progress: 11 Dec
AOR and Sponsor approval received via Canada post

Last update as per tracker: 25 Dec
Review of additional doc (proof of medical/change in address) Update 13 Jan

I'm pretty sure you can travel between US and Canada while waiting for the spousal application to be processed (after you get the OWP approved). Just so long as you're not outside of Canada for TOO long a period.
I'm in the same position, I have an ETA, my spousal application is quite far down the line (just background check to complete), and I have an OWP. I think they only really expect you to stay in Canada while waiting on the decision on the OWP (although in my case I left Canada before this was approved, but they still let me in about a month later while I was sorting some stuff out in my home country - United Kingdom). Maybe I was just lucky.

Just so long as you are transparent about your travel arrangements if ever asked, I doubt it will be an issue.

No, same thing
Thank you. Was just getting started to sponsor my wife who's in the Philippines.

Do we both have to create a separate portal account, Or is it okay if i just create the account then we both fill out everything on it? Also, on the My profile it says add dependant, is it okay if I (sponsor) put my name on it as spouse ofcourse?
