She sent her application to me. I am collating all forms and proof, etc. and preparing an application package.
I am ONLY waiting for OPTION C, which is delaying my application.
Also, today I found out that some of the document that my wife has sent are changed on the CIC application package checklist!
I am very skeptical to send in my application without option C document.
I am employed and a Sr. Analyst. I have never got welfare ever from Canadian government.
I have T4 doc and Record of employment from previous employer.

I did not send in a NOC. I sent in a copy of my T4 and a letter of employment. That was more than sufficient for sponsorship approval.

I checked the Kit that is on the CIC website and it still lists IMM5490. If you have something different then have your wife fill out the IMM5285 and send it to you. Then send the whole thing.

I am an Canadian citizen. I will be sponsoring my Philippines wife to live with me in Canada. We have been married for 3 years. My plan is that once all the paper work is sent in I was going to go to the Philippines and stay with her until we get accepted and then the both of us would fly to Canada and live in my home. Is this do able ? Is it true the wait is now 14 months

Yes, a citizen can be outside of Canada while sponsoring his/her spouse. You will need to provide proof you intent to return to Canada after your wife gets her PR. Because the wait time is 14 months, you can write a letter to CIC stating you will provide proof once they are ready to issue the COPR visa OR if you own property (a house, condo, etc) show the title, bank accounts in Canada, etc for proof. You can also show job searches or offer letters once it's closer to 14 months. It can be a little tricky to time everything, that's why I suggest telling CIC you'll supply proof when they are ready to issue your visa. Just keep in mind, that may delay the visa by 2-3 months BUT if you don't include enough proof, it will do the exact same thing! Like I said, a little tricky, but very doable :)

If I show ownership of my house and my bank accounts and send them in with the application would that be ok

That should do it, yes, but it will depend your visa officer.

Does anyone know if a person will hear back from the embassy in Cuba if they emailed them and asked for an update on their sponsorship app?

I received a letter from CIC telling my husband to come to their office to " confirm permanent residency".
They are asking for us to bring all immigration documentation - what would that include?
Work Visa anything else?
Thanks

Hey guys,
I submitted sponsorship application for my wife to CPP-M in May 2013 and received the first stage approval for sponsorship. I am told that the file has been sent to New Delhi. What are the next steps in the process and how long does it take to get final confirmation?

You will be sent a passport request. And, then you wait... and wait... How long it takes depends on so many factors that it's really not worth guessing.

It's a potential issue if you want to get a mortgage or car loan.

It's not an issue for CIC for you as sponsor.

The average Canadian carries more than $20000 in non-mortgage debt. Very sad but true.

I have few questions:

First of all, I'm planning to sponsor my husband who is currently in Malaysia. The thing is that he just got his visa in April this year which is valid until April 2014 (1 year). So is he eligible to make his visa office of Singapore (since Malaysian embassy office has shifted to Singapore), is the one year student visa of Malaysia eligible for him to apply from there? We are planning to sponsor in October of this year.

Second question is, currently I do not live in Canada, but I am a citizen. Do i need to attach option C printout or any other paper from tax filing to the package. Or do i need to file my tax returns even if i do not live in Canada presently?

3rd question is that i do not understand the procedure for the medical examination. Des he have to get that done and send it with the package, or do we have to wait and send when they ask for it? Or is there something else he has to do?

As a Canadian citizen you can sponsor your husband from outside Canada.

You would have to provide a statement of income for the last year from where ever you worked (pay stubs, savings account balance, letter of employment). You would also have to provide information on how you would provide for your husband in Canada and where you plan to reside there.

As for the medical CIC requires it to be submitted at the beginning of the process. If processing times exceed a year you may want to delay getting it done until your application has been transferred to the Canadian Embassy in Singapore so you don't run the risk of having to pay for it twice.

First of all, thanks for your help, greatly appreciated :)

although i know that being a Canadian citizen I can apply from outside of Canada, my question was not about that...what i wanted to ask was whether my husband is eligible to make Singapore the country of his visa office even if he has just recently gotten his student visa 2 months ago...sorry if i had not been clear before though...

secondly, i thought as a spouse i did not need to show any statements/sources of income. Although i plan on showing proofs that I would be living in Canada along with my spouse as soon as he got the green signal, I'm still not clear on whether which (if any) tax returns documents are need to be sent.

Thank you once again

If you have been here in the past two years and filed taxes, you will need Option C. If not, you will need proof that you can support your husband. They want to make sure you nor your husband go on welfare.
