1.Now to update my status to CIC what documents would i need.

Your wife is not immigrating with you, so you would just need to update the additional family information form - you don't need to add her to your primary application (e.g., IMM 0008 doesn't change).

2.Will i have to with draw my old file to apply for spouse visa.I havent applied for family class spouse visa yet.

No. You can have two applications in different categories in process at the same time.

3. My wife is not going to accompany me to canada as she is already their, so will i have to pay application fee for her also when I will update my status with CIC.

No. You won't pay a fee for her, nor will they require medicals (not for your skilled worker application).

If you do pursue spousal sponsorship, then you can ask to withdraw your current FSW application. If they have not started processing it, you can obtain a refund of the fees. If they have started processing it, then you cannot get a refund of the fees.

If they've already started processing your skilled worker application, you may wish to let that continue. In that way, you will receive an unconditional PR. The spousal PR you receive will be conditional and your wife must agree to provide support to you for a period of three years.

Thank you for your answer! Can I assume everything went well with the paperwork submitted and they kept going with the process?

my husband lives in canada and myself in pakistan. he filed my case on April 4, 2013. i need advice that cud we file visit visa as pakistan time period is 28 months.

Hello,

I have two questions. Kindly please answer .

1. I applied for my husband's PR on November 5, 2012 and still I have not received a passport request from New Delhi whereas other people according to a timeline spreadsheet posted, got their passport request even though they applied after us. Is something wrong?

2. My husband is in the US on a work visa and he is wondering if he can apply for a work visa while his pr application is in progress or would that cause any problems to the PR application?

Thank you much in advance!

How long has your husband been in the US? Maybe cic is choosing to process him through one of the US offices rather than the India office.

You can, but you will more than likely be denied.

Did you receive a notification that the sponsor meets the requirements for sponsorship? If so, that same notification should say where the file was sent.

Was your husband on a work visa in the US when you applied? If he was, his case could have been sent to Ottawa instead of New Delhi. If in Ottawa, his passport request will not occur until towards the end of the process.

For question 2. Are you asking if he can apply for a work visa in Canada?

hi everybody,

I am totally new to this place. Please can anybody tell me how I can feed my Date Of Application filed, Date of AOR received and all the other updates for the sponsorship of my wife in Pakistan?

Thanks,

You could apply but there is a good chance it will be denied as a PR application means that the applicant is seeking to stay in Canada while the conditions of a TRV (visit visa) include a 'promise' to leave Canada that cannot be proved after applying for PR. It is a catch-22 situation.

A handful of cases are completed in a year or less in Islamabad.

Hi, Thank you for the forum. I found it very informative on my application. I am new to the site. I've sent in my application for my spouse (from China) back in March 22nd 2013. I am wonder what is the time I am expecting to get the Client ID number or AOR. I would also like to find the March 2013 Inland application to compare my timeline with other member on the site.

The waiting is killing me lol. I am checking my mailbox and email every single day hoping to get some good news.

Regards,

Fakejordan :)

You can look at the Jan and Feb spreadsheets for an idea on how AOR is trending, although no one can tell you for sure :)

January is in my signature. Gary_87 (you can find him using the member search feature) is the editor for Feb 2013, so he'll have the spreadsheet in his signature.

There is a March 2013 Outland thread, although where it is, I dunno, cuz I looked and I'm too blind to find it :D

Thanks amikety. I've found the March 2013 spreadsheet. I've couple of quick questions, regarding Visa Office, does that refer to the location the application wast sent or the nearest office where my spouse is currently living? Also, for AOR, do I, as the applicant, get notification of the AOR or my spouse, as the sponsored person, will get the AOR?

I've noticed other member are getting their AOR on avg 15-20 days after the Processing office had received the application. I am closing in the 20 days mark but receive nothing from CIC. I'm a bit :'(
