Pretty sure an inland PR applicant can't do anything except maybe volunteer.

Aside from a PR application, you have the same right as anybody else to apply for a study permit. Without having a study permit, you would only be allowed to take courses shorter than 6 months in length.

Processing time for Islamabad is 16 months. Best for you to ask specific visa office questions in the Islamabad thread. Some applications are processed far faster than the time values given on the CIC website.

hi guys!! as i told you before i was called for an interviewed, which was today! everything was well. the officer just made me update one of the forms, and she asked what is my relationship with my partner like during this year apart, and what were my plans with my partner when i get back to canada. and that's it. she, actually was really nice, she was totally comprehensive and she smiled more than once while I was answering her questions. then at the end she asked if a thought that my relationship was something forever. then she told i was approved and my sponsor needed to pay RPRF and bring my passport to the visa office.

so that was my experience i hope it help to anyone who is going through the same process.

good luck to all, and thank you for everything. this forum did actually helped me a lot. now I finally will be reunited with the love of life!!

Did anyone received any letter or email from New delhi office for second stage approval process. I am waiting since long time and so far no news from them. Is anyone in same situation as me. Please let me know if anyone got any letter or Email.

Doesn't matter how you apply. You'll need a study permit if you wish to study. You will be paying foreign student fees. You won't qualify for domestic fees until you have PR status.

Anyone have any experience in forgetting to send some documents along with your PR? Did it delay your application or take longer than expected? Did CIC lose some of the documents and not receive them?

Any advice would be great, as I forgot a few things to include with my app.... :( i am a sad panda

One of two things will happen depending on who reviews the application and how critical the forgotten items are. Either they will return the entire application to you and request that you mail it again with the missing documents. Or they will log your application (enter it into the system) and send you a letter requesting the missing information.

Either way you're looking at some kind of delay. If they return your application then you're definitely going to add a few months to your overall processing time.

I am curious, how many of the "principal applicants" on this thread are already in Canada or have been to Canada since their marriage (on a Visitor Visa or otherwise). I wonder if that "fact" delays the Spouse Sponsorship application at the respective Home country Visa Office. In particular, I am interested in the case for New Delhi (India) office.

Also, did anyone here got a TRV rejection (for the Principal Applicant) before applying for Spousal Sponsorship? I wonder if Canadian Visa Rejections (any kind of Visa) impact the assessment of Permanent Residence application at the Home Country Visa Office?

CIC lost 2 of my sponsorship applications and my wife's passport pics. It delayed the sponsorship portion by almost 3 months and delayed part 2 by at least that much. I am 1 of 3 remaining May applicants still waiting for the PR portion to go "In Process". Most of May, June and July have already landed.

You think you're a sad panda? Not only am I the saddest panda I'm also the panda that had to shake Stephen Harper's hand yesterday.

Yeah, they logged my application in the system and then sent me an email requesting the missing information and sent an email to my spouse saying they received the application (same thing as started processing?). I then fedex'ed the next day and tracked it and it went to the Vegreville as I am being sponsored through the inland route.

Also, on a side question, I lived in a country for 5 months since I turned 18 do you think they will make me get a police clearance? That would absolutely suck.....

Sorry, bro. Best of luck to you and I hope it goes well! Let us know.

Here is my situation, Im on a post grad work permit, I have applied for a visitor visa as my husband and I are going on vacation in 2 weeks. Now as days go by I am starting to get paranoid and I am afraid that they might reject my visa because of my family ties in Canada, i.e married to a canadian. Can they refuse my visa based on that? I have never been refused before. And my husband hasn't sponsored me yet as we're waiting for the marriage to be recorded.
I know this is probably not the right thread to post under but maybe someone here has been in a similar situation
