How accurate are usually the CIC's estimates on the processing times? I'm looking at Vienna sponsorship... they say 10 months... holy... :-X

That is the 80% processed estimate. 20% of people will take longer on average, (some MUCH longer).

I would take a look at the Vienna spreadsheet and see how people are doing. Keep in mind some people never come back to update their status - look for active users. (You can check last login on their profile.)

Hi,

I received an email today "You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor"... less than a month after they received my application. How long does this "You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor" letter usually take? And my file is forwarded to India, whats the wait time from here?

My husband got his notice in 27 days. (We got it Valentine's Day!) A lot of people from the January spreadsheet got it in less than a month. Some were less than 3 weeks! :o

You basically got it right. NDVO asks for the passport fairly early on in the process. Just hold on to your seat and enjoy the waiting game :)

The January spreadsheet is in my signature. You would need to post in the Feburary 2013 applicants thread run by Gary_87.

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/february-2013-outland-only-applications-here-is-your-thread-t133667.0.html

Include:
- Date of Medical
- Date application mailed
- Date CIC got the application
- Date of AOR
- Date of Sponsor Approval

You may also be able to find a spreadsheet for your visa office. (Example - Ottawa is in my signature too.)

I like your name by the way. Pizza Hut has a Canadian Meat Lovers pizza.... nom nom. :D

You got your sponsorship approved in 8 days. I got mine in 5 months so be grateful. PR processing times depend on the speed of the visa office processing them. For Sri Lanka it says that it can take up to 16 months to process 80% of the applications. The best thing to do is find the sponsorship thread for Sri Lanka VO and post your questions there.

Try this one:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/chc-islamabad-spouse-sponsorship-timeline-2012-2013-t103544.0.html

Some of the members may have links to the spreadsheet at the bottom of their post.

Hello,
I wanted to ask about studying in canada while application is in process. Do you get a right to study after the initial stage, that is 6 months, or do you need to send a study permit application together with the sponsorship application? What fees will you be paying, international or domestic?
Thanks

Pretty sure an inland PR applicant can't do anything except maybe volunteer.
