That would actually make your application strong because you will have a proof of wedding and possibly marriage certificate/license. If you check the Spousal sponsorship checklist, you will find a set of 4 type of documents that are required and photos/license is one of them.
Hi thanks for answerinf. So no need for virtual engagement or anything. Direct wedding would suffice without creating doubts?

Correct, no need of any virtual arrangement. Physical presence of both of you will make the application strong.

can anyone clarify my question Regarding SOWP
what do I fill in the given name (I don't have a Given name) on the 5707 family information form as this form is not allowed to validate without filling it ( I know I have to sign it with a pen after)?

If it requires something to be filled, XXX. This is both Cdn govt official and I think international for name fields that should be read as blank, i.e. no-one will think that this means you have a given name of 'XXX'.

I believe this is in instructions somewhere as well.

Hi Everyone, I applied for my outland spousal sponsorship in December and received the pre-arrival letter today. Do you have any idea how long it will take to get approval?

Before this, the BG check was not applicable, but recently, I updated the medical with IRCC, and they changed the status to a background check-in process.

My spouse's outland application is in progress, bcg and eligibility in progress. received an email with subject "IRCC PR Confirmation Portal" asking for details like height or if she is in Canada.
Is it an indicator of COPR soon ? Dec 2023 Outland Application, she is in Canada on Visitor visa.
HI Also submitted my spousal outland application in December and today received pre-arrival letter. I don't know how long it will take.

Hi, I would like to know whether you have submitted webform to IRCC informing that your wife is in Canada. Mine is a Feb 2023 Outland application, I am also in Canada on a visitor visa.

Hello there! Thanks for all the valuable info in this forum. Unfortunately, I submitted the application yesterday and upon double-checking it today because of my anxiety, I noticed that I made a few mistakes.

Mistake One

I (sponsor) filled the part that asked about Any relatives in Canada (cousins, aunts, uncles, etc).

My spouse (principal applicant) should have been filling this area.

Second Mistake

I put the date of our marriage ceremony ( official one) wrong

I mixed up the days with months. It was YYYY-MM-DD I put YYYY-DD-MM

Third Mistake

Upon checking our marriage certificate, it shows she took my last name, but on everything else her name is still birth name not my last name. Do I write an explanation letter?

Objective :

To let IRCC know ASAP

Process?

Do I rase a webform? Since I don't have any UCI numbers or case files, what is the next best thing I can do?

Do I wait for my file to be returned?

Thank you

Most probably, it will be returned in my personal opinion. All of these mistakes warrant a correction, specially the mix up in dates which is critical and the name/surname confusion. No point in submitting web form without AOR or application number. Wait it out until you hear something back then make sure you fix all these errors. It's always good to go through entire application thrice or at least twice and not submit an application right after you've finished filling everything in the first go.

Hello! I submitted my initial application on the 20th of July but made the dumbest mistake by forgetting to put my signature. My application was returned to me after almost a month on the 21st of August. I fixed my application a filled it out again and checked thoroughly and submitted it again on the 24th of August 2024.

Question - How much time does one generally wait to get their AOR provided their application had been resubmitted after being returned? I've heard it takes more time than an application that hasn't been returned. Also do webforms help expediting in anyway?

Thanks!
