The UCI in the AOR is my UCI (the sponsor) instead of my wife's UCI (the Principal Applicant). Is that normal? Also, it's not a letter per se, only an email. I suppose it counts as a "letter".

The email looks like below.

UCI: 99999999 (sponsor's UCI)
Application No.: F99999999

Dear John Doe,

This confirms that your application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2024/02/05 on behalf of the following member(s):

MARIA DOE
k

UCI in AOR is Sponsor's AOR. Principle Applicant's UCI can be found on GCKey if you manage to link the application, alternatively it will be included in the Biometrics letter.

Has your spouse applied for a visitor's visa?
We haven't applied for a visitor visa because after talking to multiple lawyers and even the MP they told me to not waste our time because we are from Yemen. They won't accept it, It's crazy. I have been a Canadian citizen since 2004 my son got his citizenship recently they situation in Yemen is dangerous i even explained it to them yet nobody cares my son can't leave the country by his 4 years old. and everything yet I see people getting there PPR every day yet we are talking so long.

Hi. I am the sponsor originally from Yemen so is my spouse. Our application is outland in the London VO in the UK. We have been married in Yemen since July 2018 we have a 4 year old son and my wife is pregnant in her 8th month now. After we applied we visited each other two times in Amman, Jordan. She and my son flew in from Sana'a Yemen and me from Canada we stayed together for about 5 months in the two trips. First trip was a visit second trip was a visit and to complete my wife's Biometrics in Jordan because Yemen doesn't have a collection site. My timeline is:
Feb 10, 2023 Application sent online.
March 29, 2023 AOR Received to Sponsors email.
July 20, 2023 Biometrics Collection Letter.
August 8, 2023 Biometrics completed..
August 21, 2023 Medical requested.
Sep 18 Medical completed.
Dec 5, 2023 We got a procedural fairness letter saying our marriage was a proxy marriage because we had a traditional Yemeni Marriage were each ceremony was celebrated separately told us they are willing to consider our application as Common-Law. we replied with we don't have a problem proving our marriage or a common-law and gave them proof.
Replied to Procedural Fairness Letter on Dec 18, 2023. Since then complete silence tried even getting the MP involved because it has been past a year and my country is currently being bombed with missiles dropping near our house and to my surprise they said they can't do anything. My son already got his Canadian Citizenship sent in a passport application for him to get his passport and he is in Yemen with my wife. Did everything in my power and my wife is pregnant in her 8th month she is really suffering but I didn't get any help from anyone. What can I do???!!
Unfortunately there is not much you can do but wait. (I would have suggested reaching out to your MP but you've already done that and your MP can't actually speed up processing).

Since you received a PFL, your application is unfortunately non standard and will likely take longer than normal. If you are asking IRCC to process your application under common law, I assume you have lived together continuously for at least one full year and you provided evidence to prove the one year of cohabitation.

I'm sorry your wife's situation is so unsafe. Is there somewhere she can move to temporarily that is safer? Did you try applying for a TRV at any point?

I was told that we might being stuck under a secondary review of the Sponsor which could take several months. Outland application was submitted on Oct 17, 2023, received AOR on Dec 6, 2023, and since then complete silence. Should we order GCMS notes to confirm this?

What is your Visa office if you don't mind me asking?

We got a request asking for proof that the sponsor lives in canada and an explanation As to why PA was not included in sponsors initial PR application.
The answer seems to be fairly simple: you were not married because you got 'married' before in a procedure - marriage by proxy - that is not recognized as marriage by IRCC, and hence you could not include him. You got married, legally, in Canada as soon as you could, which was after the sponsor became a PR.

Yeah, this exactly what it is. I will stop worrying about it and see what happens

Ideally it would have been better -in theory - to disclose before you became a OR to IRCC that you have a spouse but you understand the marriage is not considered legal by IRCC. I don't know how they would have handled that - in theory they should have declined it. It's hard to know exactly how they will approach now.

You might speak to a lawyer because if they decide you should have included him, you will have a very difficult situation (he would be inelgibile for sponsorship). But I don't know that they would say anything different than outlining the truth.
