Do I need to wait for some time before sponsoring my dad or I can sponsor immediately? What are the income requirements for sponsoring dad like amount of funds available etc(I think there are no income requirements for sponsoring spouse).
I think you can sponsor them both. For family class sponsoring, they'll surely be looking at your finances!
See the guide for more details on this.

Re: Transfer of Application

You can ask but they will not transfer unless you have some very extraordinary circumstances. One office being slower than the other is not a good enough reason to transfer in CIC's view. If you are a citizen of the Philippines, you had to option of choosing Manila in the beginning. Sorry but you are probably out of luck.

NEWS!
i just received an email from Abu Dhabi office saying that all my immigration file will be transfered to Manila Philippines. i'll be hearing news from Manila office in the coming weeks.

That's great news. I love it when they surprise me with stuff like this even though 99% of the time, it doesn't happen. Good for you!

Hi Leon,

I sent my inland PR/sponsorship applications to Vegreville at the end of September, however I didn't attach OWP application since was hoping for faster processing time. My current work permit expires on June 25 2011, so can I apply for OWP at a later stage? What would be the best way to do that or is there any other better way to extend my stay, which would enable me to continue working?

Thanks a lot in advance for your advise.

You can apply for an OWP if you get first stage approval of your inland application. First stage is taking 8 to 10 months right now.

If they receive first stage approval of the inland application, they can apply for an open work permit. Otherwise, if they find an employer that wants to hire them and has a positive Labour Market Opinion, they can also apply for a work permit.

hello po ulet...pls kindly help me to some of my questions

1) do i need to undergo our medical before sending the form to my husband and send applications with medical results together with some of the docs needed?

2) and if i have all the docs with me with the med results..will i send it straight to my canadian husband in canada ?

3) are there any fees to be paid here in the philippines before sending our docs to my husband ? what are those and where to pay and any idea how much so i can prepare and try to save money for those fees?

4) about the medical, i had my caesarian section 3 years ago and i found out that theres a mass formed beside the incision and need to be removed via reoperation again ... will that affect my medical coz what i know canadian government wont allow u to enter canada if u have contageous diseases that can be transmitted to canadian public...mine is not contageous.. or do i have to undergo reoperation first before my medical ? anyone who has a case like mine ? i just dont know what to do first..

thank you for giving time reading my concerns ..kindly help me any one..thank you, more power and God bless us all....
