Thank you! I actually sent my FBI application last week and Im just waiting for the result. Also, I have tried making an appoint for my medical but the approved clinic was asking about some numbers that the Canadian Immigration (I guess) supposed to give me. How will I get an appointment without thesez numbers??

tell them you are applying for spousal sponsorship, and these numbers are not provided to you and are not required for the exam. if they push back, tell them you will be calling CIC to notify them of noncompliance. it's important to be firm with these people. they are not immigration specialists. more than likely they don't understand there are different streams of immigration and different rules for each stream.

I am not a permanent resident yet, I only have an extended 2yrs green card in the US. So they want me to get a police clearance direct from the FBI. Its just frustrating how long its going to wait for the FBI to have theyre result.

I know what you feel :( I've been waiting for mine since August.

if you are in the us, you can now use a 3rd party channeler for the report. CIC now accepts them for spousal sponsorship. the details are on the CIC website. channeler reports are usually received within 2 weeks, most much sooner. the report must be mailed to a us address, so if you are not in the us and don't have anyone who can receive the letter for you, then going to the fbi is the only option.

This still only applies to US Citizens or Permanent Residents.

If I have read it incorrectly or have overlooked the part where it says if someone in the US can use a 3rd party channeler, would you be so kind to post the link here.

Thank you!

my mistake. i am unaware if there's a link that provides that information.

Hello mates, Like all of others, i am here for guidance. New member, so many queries. Can anyone please explain me what should i write down in Q:4 What preparations have you and your sponsor made for your move to Canada?? (Country Specific Guide) (IMM3907e)

Tips please, I am really confused :(

The question pertains if the sponsor met any of the spouse's close friends or family.

I'd also like to know if it's a good idea to attach a separate sheet of paper or answering the blank fields are enough.

Filling in the fields on the form is enough. There is no need to add more names on an additional sheet.

Right. The option 2 which is to use the approved FBI channeler is only available for US Citizens or Permanent Residents regardless whether that person is in the US or not.

Please feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken. Thank you.

I think you're right. Most of the third party channellers email the results but some of them mail it. I was checking some of their websites and the ones that I checked that said they will mail it say they will only mail it to a US address. But it doesn't say anything about having to actually be in the US.

Would they consider it incorrect if I have written the following hypothetically:

1. Arthur Weasley -- Father
2. Molly Weasly -- Mother
3. George, Fred, Ronald, and Ginny Weasley. -- Siblings
4. Harry Potter -- Best friend
5. Albus Dumbledore -- Best friend

Note that in number 3 I have put 4 names in one field.

Thank you!

I think you would have to put each sibling on their own line but I'm not sure

I could only answer for 5 people. My parents and my siblings already take up 6 fields, without mentioning any of my friends. This is sad. If I'm wrong then I'd have to do the questionnaire all over again as I've printed and completed it already. :(

It might not be a problem since it doesn't directly affect your application. Check the application guide to see if there are any specific instructions on how to answer that question. I actually continued that question on another sheet of paper because 5 lines was not enough.

if given space isn't enough, you should create an annex and attach it with the application, and indicate on the provided space to refer to the annex.
That's what we did. Obviously, each family has more than 5 members and friends.

It doesn't really say anything. I was just trying to save up some space. Haha. Up to how many number of people did you include in your app?

I think I put 12 people

HI Seniors Please help !!!!!
Few doubts with family sponsorship process
1. It says get pay stub for last 12 months but i came to canada in sep 2015 and got my full time job in april 2016. And i am going back to india to get Married. Will my time in a full time job be valid or acceptable??? And i read in forum about the option C print out i was confused about what it is.

2. If my fiance gets a PCC before we getting married will it still be acceptable ?? because in our country usually last name of the girl changes after marriage. or can she not change her name on passport and still keep the last name same. Not changing last name in the passport will it effect our other documents ??

just these doubts..
Any other helpful tips are always welcome just started working on the family sponsorship process trying to save the time.

thanks in advance

Thanks! Do you think I would problems if I do a certain page again from IMM 5490? I have completed the form and would just like to correct a mistake.

No it shouldn't be a problem. I don't think that form saves online into their system.
