Alright sounds good! Thanks :) so if we go ahead and proceed with the outland application, will she be able to travel back to the US while its being processed?
Yes, she'll fully be able to leave the country and not jeopardize her application. There's always the risk with reentering Canada that she might be denied entry, but since she has a PR application in process that's a very small risk. CBSA is normally pretty lenient on people who are visa-exempt with a PR application in process. Even if she is ever denied entry the PR application will proceed unaffected.

If she ends up needing an interview then she will have to go to Los Angeles, but that's fairly rare. As long as you have a strong application with minimal red flags you shouldn't need one.

If she wants to cross between the US and Canada frequently then you should look into getting her a Visitor Record one of the times she reenters Canada. I don't have any experience with this, but several members have asked a CBSA officer for a VR and have been successful. Some officers have even told people that they are allowed to say they are living in Canada with it, but they can't work or study.

I've been on this site since the very end of last summer and I'm still asking questions ;D. Good luck with your application.

Oh and a heads up, the visitor extension fee is $100 CAD.

You must have gotten medical very early before sending your application in for it to expire.

Did you receive AOR2 email (or letter)? It would ask you to re-do documents if necessary (5669E is common if you your recent 10 years does not go back to 18...VO has asked a lot of people to redo back to 18). Another one is saying that if medical has less than 120 days before expiring, you'll have to redo.

If your responded to requests in the AOR2 or you were ok, then there's nothing to do but keep waiting. If you did not get AOR2, well, you should find out if it was sent out, and what instructions it may have given you.

You can find out in GCMS notes. I see that you have asked others about ordering notes, so I assume you ordered them. They should be on the way, and until you get them, the only option is to wait.

Two weeks is ok, you are permitted short trips while still maintaining common-law status.

The general consensus is, a trip of up to a few weeks is acceptable. If it's over a month, you are going to need a very good reason for leaving without your spouse.

Hi everyone, please need your opinions...

Here is my husband and I's situation. My husband is/was under exclusion order he left March 19, 2015, which his 1 yr expired already last month. I am PR sponsoring him. They had requested an ARC (authorization to return to Canada) Jan 19, 2 months before his exclusion order was about to expire and we sent our application Feb 22 so we have been waiting just under 2 months on that. When we received an emailed requesting for the ARC they mentioned that we are in the last steps of our application and the arc is left to do. I've visited him twice now with my last visit Jan 25, this year. My work won't allow me to go on anymore vacations. Because of this I am trying to find another job so I can go see my husband again, it's been very difficult being apart as I am sure you all know what it's like. We asked our lawyer if it will be a good idea for me to change jobs in relation to our papers and if it will delay our process or not. Our lawyer advised us that there is no problem in changing jobs however they do need to inform the vo/our officer about the change which then will cause a delay in the process depending on how much time they want to take changing the information. I mentioned how we have read a lot on the forums that many people have changed jobs and did not inform the cic about it. Our lawyer said everyone's case is different and we should not compare ours to others, which I get. Now my husband and I are faced with the decision... Should I change jobs so I can go there see him and we risk delaying our process, which we have no idea at all how long it will take or even where we are in the process right now OR not risk it and wait it out till however long this might take, I hope maybe 2 months at most for everything. Our enemy is time and not know how long anything will take which is making our decision very difficult. Of course we don't want to delay anything however we also want to be together.

Thanks for your replies!

You can certainly change jobs. You don't have to inform CIC.

Your laywer sounds like an idiot on a few fronts. His advice on changing jobs is wrong. It was also a bad idea to have you apply to sponsor your husband before the exclusion order expired since by applying early, you triggered the ARC process - which has cost you additional money and possibly time. You should have just waited until after the exclusion order expired to apply. Anyway - unfortunately too late now.

Any family class applicants that has application in Paris, Trying to find Timelines for the VO ::)
There's an active Paris thread. That's the best place to find real timelines for that specific VO.

How do I go about sending proof of paying the RPRF after I've submitted the outland application? I assume I would send it to the VO my application is forwarded to once I get SA, but I'd like a confirmation. Would it still delay my application this way?

out of curiosity, does anyone know how long does it takes the delivery for the application file from CIC to the VO office?

It should be instantaneous, since everything is scanned by CIC when the application is initially received.
