Hi,
My fiancee is a Canadian Citizen, we are planning to get married this July 2015 at Alberta Canada. She said I only need to bring my passport as my identification and both of us should be present to be able to apply for a marriage license. I am from Philippines i have 5 years multiple entry tourist visa to Canada. And my sister, grandma, mom and dad are coming too for the wedding, all of them have 5 years tourist visa too.
I have a question if do we have to tell the immigration officer that i am getting married inside Canada? Although aside from getting married we are visiting my aunt who is a permanent resident of Canada and will be attending assembly as well.
Tha'ts all my husband needed for us to get a licence. When my husband was coming he just told them he was coming for a visit . He didn't give them any more information that was not needed . His next visit he did say he was coming to visit his wife . You don't have to tell them your getting married. Never lie if they ask you that question directly .
