Hi Everyone, back to this forum after few months for some questions on Spousal sponsorship. I have been reading the forms on checklist and threads on this forum and have a few queries.

I am a PR since last year, moved permanently to Canada in June this year and working at a full time job since then. I am planning to get married in March/April next year and would really appreciate if someone could guide what are the things I need to take care of from now onwards.

* Visited Pakistan for one week in September for Sister's wedding. Also had formal engagement on the same venue with pictures and both of us receiving gifts from families.
* Planning for Nikah only in March/April next year as she is studying and will graduate next year end. I will go to Pakistan for few days and we will have formal wedding reception with pictures. There won't be rukhsati as I will come back to Canada. No big age difference and first marriage.

Questions:

* Does it sound like a complicated case?
* How long should I wait to apply for sponsorship? I know I need to have enough proofs of relationship. I plan to gather as much as I can like pictures, movie tickets, restaurant bills, chat and call logs etc.
* Is the Visa office always London for Pakistani spousal sponsorship applicants? I know standard wait time is one year but what are current trends?
* What is the ratio of CIC asking applicants for interview and where are interviews held.

Thank You.
Do not do Nikkah only. I highly recommend that you do ruskhati. Why take a chance? Sometimes, they don't give weight to explanations. I have read Pakistani cases that were rejected becuase of nikkah only on all Spouse appeal cases. Also, spend more time when you go for wedding and take lot of pictures after wedding. Can you wait till she is done studies and then get married so you can do ruskhati. Also, make sure you have pictures of Nikkah signing if it is custom where you live. Keep your boarding pases. Do not take shortcuts you might regret it. Also, the most important thing is that you have correct documents. Ask for help from other Pakistani applicants. London is the visa applicant for Pakistani, Afghan and middle east countries. They are very strict with Afghan and Pakistani applicant.

Just curious to know if there are any examples for sponsorship from Pakistan whose case completed in 6-7 months?

Sometimes it takes three months to review documents in London. You should hear something in november or earlier. If not contact MP.
That’s k u) I have read many cases where people wait for up to half a year or even more..........:(

my husband already contacted mp and was told to contact one week prior to 12 months, which is in a couple of weeks...
I am just wondering what this review with the officer means?! They haven’t start my background check???

Is there anything we can do to raise the delay issues with Pakistani applications? The average for other countries is mostly around 4 months while for us its taking almost an year. This is so unfair and painful. Reuniting with your spouse shouldn't be this slow and there must be something we can do :(

And we waiting for May applicants OMG super late
No it won’t happen so soon I have been waiting since June 10 biometrics done haven’t heard anything else

It is extremely stressing and painful and totally unjust for applicants from Pak.

Any 2016 applicant here..?

Hi guys.. I'm new here and I'm kinda lost about everything so if I could please get some help understanding this whole process!

I currently live in Canada and my husband lives in Pakistan.
I started the application end of July and am still waiting for AOR1
From most of the responses I've read on this forum it looks like its taking over 10-11 months for the whole process? Or even over 12 months for some?
Is there anyone here who has sponsored their husband in less than 12 months?
And do you guys think sponsoring females takes a shorter time and sponsoring males takes longer?
Yes females are in 10 months male take 12-16 months
