Hi everyone,

I am an October 2017 applicant. I received an email reply from LVO last week that my eligibility had cleared and my background check was still underway. GCKey has not yet been updated with my eligibility approval and I spoke with an IRCC call center agent who told me it’s simply a matter of the agent who is handling my case not going into GCKey and updating it yet.

On Monday, IRCC requested an updated schedule A background declaration form and I sent that yesterday.

My background check has been ongoing since January 2018, so almost a year. My medical expires in a week, on December 22, but I have not been asked to complete a new medical.

What do you think the chances are that I’m close to being finished with this whole thing?

ALHAMDOLILAH received visa stamped passport, long journey with bumpy road, but eventually done with the mercy of ALLAH (sbwt).

gckey wont be updated untill you get your passport back after COPR my background checks are going on since may 2018 and not been done yet and i have received pre arrival 3 days ago after receiving PFL. so lets hope background checks are done pretty soon for all of us.

Can anyone please tell me what is the process of marriage registration in Pakistan? Do you have to sign the Nikkah nama in front of registrar for it to count as a valid marriage?

If the sponsor is a PR, then you actually shouldn’t visit for a long period of time, I read on this forum that it’s better that your visit doesn’t exceed 3 weeks otherwise the CIC will object that you don’t plan on living in Canada.
Otherwise visited your spouse looks good, because it proves tour relationship is genuine. Upload additional proof of your tickets, boarding pass, pictures of you two together, receipts from restaurants, etc etc, and your case might get processed faster.

I'm a canadian citizen. March 2018 applicant, I have visited my wife twice since I submitted my application. Once for our honeymoon in Dubai and another visit in Pakistan again. I did not upload this information because it wasn't requested. Is it recommended to voluntarily upload this or send to LVO?

Everyone has a different opinion about sending voluntary information, but I think it’s good to periodically submit this kind of info yourself. You’ve got nothing to lose anyways! I think it’s easier to submit proof of your visit (boarding passes, pictures, receipts, messages etc) online, but if anyone recommends mailing it to LVO please correct me.

It has been more than 2 months I received the pre-arrival services letter but no sign of PPR.
Status on ECAS is showing that We are processing your background check.
Any Comments on this type of case? or anyone facing similar issue? Does Saudi Canada governments dispute have to do something with it?

I am an October 2017 applicant myself and got pre arrival letter on 12th of December and background checks are going on since May 2018. I don’t think Saudi and Canadian dispute has anything to do with it. It is what it is brother

well I am writing on this forum for the same reason as most of the other

people here.
I am also getting married by end of Dec.
Hence myself (Sponsor Canadian citizen) needs to sponsor my future wife

(applicant from Pakistan).

I went thorugh few of the pages of this forum and also a wonderful website

What I understand that my presence here during the marriage and the steps

we do is very important for the entire application and hence I decided to

make sure if I am on the right track.
We are having complete marriage ( Nikkah + Barat + Ruksati + Valima).

My concerns and questions below:

1) but somewhere in this forum I read this that we need to take a picture

showing 400 guests, like we have invited 400+ people but how to accomodate

them in one picture.

2) Is honeymoon necessary, people do recomend having its pics ?

3) Wedding invitation card, one side or both (Groom and bride sides) ?

4) Chat logs and call logs. (is it required before Marriage or after

Marriage calls).

5) I can see in the forum that there are some cases taking 18 months like applied in April or May of 2017 and got done this Dec 2018. On the other hand there are some lucky cases like submited in May 2018 and done in Dec 2018. So my question is, what we conclude the reason for delay. is it Nikkah only case getting delay.
