Just mention who u will be living with in canada... talk about any potential education or career plans u hav and ur intention of purseuing a career there..u can also talk about any vacation plans u hav once u reach there such as sight seeing and all.. just show to the VO that u r eager to begin ur new married life in canada.

Can you tell me one thing, did your mycic update when you submitted your passport about that they have received it? and in how many days did you receive it with the visa stamp?
Also can you tell me who handles the original docs in pakistan?

The passport came back stamped after 1 week. No, myCIC did not update stating all of that, instead I was provided with a tracking number that I could use on the vfs's website that showed every update.

Return of original docs info here, call 1st number i.e. Mustufa Younus:

Remember not all original docs are sent to Pak...really depends on the visa officer, some send it to your Canadian address instead.

You submit everything at the closest vfs office in person. You submit the fees as well in cash.

So, I just received my GCM notes (on day 28) and I don't see notes on my file. Except for all the calls I made to the MP (which were almost every month :-[), who in turn called to check on my file on my behalf

Hopefully, that won't shed bad light on my case, inshallah.

Anyways, my question is, do I look for anything specific?

you ordered your notes too early. if you look at the date your notes were generated (usually within a week of submitting the ATIP request), you'll probably see that the date of generation is before the day you got your doc request. so your actual file does have notes in it as of sept 28th, but your current version of GCMS notes don't reflect that.

go ahead and order some more, although i'm pretty sure you'll be see movement on your file before you get your next set of notes.

Wait, what your GCMS notes show your MP phone calls?... ??? ???...Why would they record that in the system :-\

Called CIC last week to email me AOR2 ( since i never received it). I thought it was a harmless request and my buddy at cic got upset for me doing so (without her knowledge). she said it might mess up the queue file.. :'(

they record all incoming and outgoing communication pertaining to your file, and that includes calls from your MP, calls from the applicant or sponsor, case specific enquiries, direct emails, documents uploaded via MyCIC, etc...

I guess there might be some truth to this "delay if they inquire" thingy...

Snowy2015, I haven't received original documents back. Should i send LVO email or should i wait until my spouse come here then i should send them email ? What was their response when you send email to LVO
As in link above, they mentioned the documents should be reached by when they ask for passport request. What you did and follow to get your document back ?

I guess there might be some truth to this "delay if they inquire" thingy...

yeah, ATIP requests are always noted.

and no, there's no truth to that. it's just one of many scare tactics that our MPs use to prevent us from creating more work for them. sending case specific enquiries or asking your MP to call does not cause any delays, because these things are noted in your electronic file, not your physical file.

Did it really show updates? Its been 9 days since i submitted my passport and the only thing it says is passport has been forwarded to islamabad

Have you gotten your passport back with stamp?

If I were you I'd try to get them before you land. Contact LVO if you want and ask them whether they have sent your docs back and where. If they reply saying they sent them to your address in Pakistan, then there is a good chance this guy might have them:

They showed one update at a time like yours. Remember processing times may differ.

Yeah but if I am an immigration officer working on a file while updating the electronic file I'd be a bit vary of an MP calling every month on a file.. : :...But I hope your right..

yes! my heart skipped a beat when i saw the notification. I honestly thought it was going to be another doc request.

total time to process was 10.5 months.
