Hello all,

My cousin received his PPR.

So my cousin (submitted application on Nov 4th 2015)just noticed today that there was an update on ECAS and now he has Decision Made under both Sponsor and PR. Medical reassessment was done on September 6th 2016.

Furthermore, when he checked his CIC account, he had an email that asked his spouse to submit passport to Islamabad visa office.

However, Im still waiting to hear regarding my application which was also submitted by Nov 4th 2015. My husband got his medical reassessment done on September 1st and requested documents were submitted by early august 2016.
I hope to hear something positive soon.

Keep your hopes up everybody there is movement and hopefully by the end of this month us November and applicants from the previous months should be cleared inshaALLAH.

First of all, Congratulations to everyone who is getting amazing news Alhamdulillah.

Also, I feel like I've been punched in the face. Please make this clear to me, I only log-in to my CIC Account.... ECAS is a whole separate place to check status?

I'm from BC, Canada sponsoring my husband in Faisalabad, Pakistan. Does this apply to me?

Another question I have which I feel will be best answered by someone here is: I'm a January 29 applicant, and sponsor approval was on March 8th. My husband's medical expires on Oct 6th. Question is, is there such a case where we're asked why we didn't go and meet our spouse for this long? For personal reasons, I can't go until 2017 anyways. I mean no one intentionally wants a long-distance relationship. But according to my time-line, do you think (based on CIC progress) we'll have a decision by then (2017) InshaAllah!?

Yes ecas is the old system for checking sponsorship status which shows three basic lines which are when the application was received,when it started processing and medicals received and the new system is mycic (which is more good in a way it gives u notifications if there's any update on your file, however if u have a lawyer you can't use mycic.. U need to get rid of the representatives to use mycic)

Cic may ask u if u haven't meet ur spouse for an year or so maybe...
So if u have valid reasons such as job or whatever it would be fine
Although they don't ask it always
It depend on the visa officer leniency and your luck basically..

Yes, there are usually instructions in the ppr email on how and where to submit if ever the applicant is in canada at the time.

Congratulations! I hope all December 2015 applicants also get PPR in this same batch, so we move to 2016
