no, don't contact them. go to your local MP's office and ask them to find out why they're taking so long. they will contact them on your behalf. the service standard for spousal apps is 12 months regardless of which country the applicant is in. once 12 month passes, it's time for your MP to get involved.

Hi flx2015, I heard back from my MP and she said that the IRCC said that the medicals and info has passed but the eligibility and the background check has yet not started and also she said that the current time period is 14 months so they do hope to have it sooner.... so can you please tell me of what i can expect next...

my wife go to the MP office today they update her that our security criminality and medical is passed and they are working on relationship she said that almost 75% work is done now i hope your case will finalize in 2 or 3 months.what is your opinion brother i thought first they do eligibility then they do security etc what you think about it?

it's pretty much what i expected to hear. nov/dec applicants aren't really going to see any progress until LVO gets back to finalizing october applicants.

also, it's tough to give an estimate of when they'll begin because i don't see a trend. they might go on a blitz like they did last year if we're lucky, or they might simply continue working at the same pace as before. let's be patience and see what happens, because that's pretty much the only thing we can do.

looks like there were a couple of red flags in your relationship which required further review, hence the delay.

i'm saying this based on the fact that all assessments apart from eligibility are completed. usually in a straightforward case, eligibility is completed by the time they begin with criminality/security.
