What do you need for someone who travels with a child (from Pakistan to Canada for the first time) where the child has Canadian citizenship and a Canadian passport (but born in Pakistan)? Are there any other documents you need for the child (besides Polio certificate?) Any insights from people who have travelled with kids before will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

You should have the nadra birth certificate with you and a pakistan gov't document for travelling. This could be either NICOP or Pakistan passport.
This is a requirement for dual nationals.

Also, if the child is travelling with 1 parent (either father or mother) you'll need a consent letter as well. I've travelled alone with my child twice and both times when I re-entered Canada I was asked for the consent letter signed by the second parent. "..A consent letter is not a legal requirement in Canada, but it can simplify travel for Canadian children, as it may be requested by immigration authorities when entering or leaving a foreign country or by Canadian officials when re-entering Canada. The letter demonstrates that Canadian children have permission to travel abroad from parents or guardians who are not accompanying them...." I took this info from travel.gc.ca website.

I talked to my lawyer today to send an email to cic. But he said to wait for the month of october as it is an election month. He also said that sending them an email can delay the process. Is it true?

no it's not true,
Ppl are mostly professionals in Canada, but MP office USUALLY isn't that friendly so they say such things.

Well it's up 2u if u think then ask him as it taking less time for other and more for you. Also he is not telling you why it taking more time in your case cuz he doesn't know as well and through notes u will know the reason

If I was in your position, I would want to know what is happening with my case file.
And if your lawyer does not co-operate, you are free to make your choice.

i have a question if my visa is getting stamped from abu dhabi vo, can i go to Pakistan before and travel from there to Canada? or i have to travel from UAE only.

Same case here, i have a 5 months baby and i have applied for baby's Pakistani Passport after confirmed from FIA ISB, They suggested me to have Pakistani ''Passport'' or ''NICOP''
as a travel document of baby to exit country if baby is born in Pakistan. So its essential.
