I keep hearing tht sending emails to lvo or requesting gcms notes delays the application process. Is this true?? Ive already emailed them twice and will have to do it again! Hope this is not true

Obtaining GCMS (electronic case notes) does not delay anything, its applicant's right under Privacy Act.
I suggest everyone should at least once, order theirs. It sometimes sheds light on things which can be corrected timely.

my wife got her passport request today. Very condfused about the Updated Chart form. Do i a canadian citizen need to be added on in the box of "spouse". She will be travelling alone from Pak.

Only the sponsored people need to fill it.
CIC has no interest in knowing about Canadian sponsor.

Wife traveling alone has nothing to do with the above.

Unnecessary correspondence is welcomed by none; might be the same by you as well. But any thing which can support and provide synergistic effect to your application in truly genuine way need to be conveyed to the VO with out reluctance.

Its wise choice to take time and review any correspondence, making sure it contains all necessary information.

Does change of address cause any delays in the application process??

So simple yet very intricate question :o :o; if I may perceive it correctly ??? .

Different information need to be added in the question in order to answer it (or at least make a wise guess). Like the question is about the change of address of principal applicant or sponsor; what stage the application is at; whether the security background checks have been done or not yet and so on so forth............?? One may add the location (country/ies of residence) of the principal applicant/sponsor as well to make a guess.

But irrespective of all, its highly recommended to update the VO about any change of circumstances, including the address.

Did u or ur spouse already submit ur passport ?

I submitted it two days ago that's why im telling you. Write applicants name and the application number on the back of the pictures (35mm x 45mm). Attach those two photographs with Appendix A, you are only going to mention the applicants name in the first row, dont add yourself in the spouse section. Thats all you need to do.

If you haven't seen any change in your online status in about 10 months or so after you applied , I suggest to submit a Case specific Inquiry.
And if you really want to know where your application stands at you can definitely order GCMS notes without any hesitation.
