@donna_l77 most of them are getting their process done close to the 1 year mark, unless you have a complicated process, dependents aboard,or you come from a country where the bgc can take more time...

Hi @gabrielasqs . Have they started your eligibility yet?? Did u find any change on ECAS in process or something after medical ??

Oh, I see! Looks like people who didn’t apply for an OPW are getting medical requests quicker than the people who also applied for an OPW!
Not necessarily true I didn’t apply for OWP and I waited 9 months for medical request

Hello you all! Here’s my timeline

19/05/2017- Application received

16/06/2017- Start processing sponsorship

17/06/2017- Acknowledge letter (AOR)

27/06/2017-Schedule A &PoliceCertificate

15/03/2018- Medical requested

11/05/2018- Decision made (Sponsorship)

11/05/2018- Start processing PR app

25/05/2018- Got an email saying “Application has been completed”

Although I’m still waiting the date for the landing interview.

I also applied for OWP but it was on hold because they said I was out of status. I just got it last week and I’m just about to be done with the PR itself...

My question is: should I apply for SIN and health insurance with my OWP? Is it complicated to switch these documents when you get your PR? Or should I just wait to get the PR? Any leads will be apreciated!!

if i were you, i’d wait until you land. it’s not that complicated to replace your temporary SIN and stuff, but do you really wanna waste your time in lines at service canada twice? give it a few weeks, land and get everything done once and for all.

just wait for your COPR / PR card. if you use your OWP to get sin number, you will have to go back and get a new sin once you have your PR card/COPR. they only issue a temporary sin number for OWP. i don’t know from which province are you. but for OHIP, you will also get a new OHIP card once you become a PR.
