Hello All - I submitted my application on nov 28 and had it returned today due to wrong version of the checklist used :( Also it didn’t have an representative form in there to have CIC provide update to my husband on my (principle Application) behalf. Anyway, will be resubmitting the package again.

Question - has anyone been in this situation and have any advice to provide? Want to get it absolutely right the 2nd time.

Hi,

Can I ask which version of the check list you used?

I think I might have used the wrong check lis too. So I'm worried they are going to return my application too.

Happy New Year!

Thanks,

Z

Hi - no you don't need to apply for a TRV once you have the OWP. It grants you status in Canada for the duration of the work permit. if you don't have the work permit by like January 20th 2018 you might want to consider extending the visitor status because if the OWP is returned for any reason he will be out of status. it says 30 days before but as long as CIC has the application before status expires you will be fine .

Thank you very much for your response. I was thinking this would be the best option for us to take :)

Hi there! He should be able to stay and work once he gets his OWP. From what I see here in the forum, there are already October applicants getting their OWP so your husband's should come shortly as well. So its really up to you if you'd like to extend it or not. Not quite sure how long it takes but I think I read before that its approximately 30 days to process.

If however, he would like to travel outside of the country in the future, he should have a valid visitor's visa AND work permit to be able to re-enter Canada. That's the only time that he would need to have a valid travel visa.

Thank you for your reply. It's good to know about needing a visa if he chooses to travel outside of Canada! Thanks for your help.

I haven’t seen anyone from june/july getting medical request yet!

Thank you, that's good to know. Apparently once they request it, it means I'm pretty close to being approved, correct? Based on other people's timelines, it looks like they were approved a few weeks after sending their results in :)

For anyone having trouble linking their application to their online account, you should use the "Report a technical issue" option on the website. I tried to link for 3 days and it never worked, so I messaged them. Initially they gave me the generic responses but said I could send them all of the answers I'm using (screenshots) and the error messages. When I sent the second error with screenshots and explaining that nothing would work, they were able to go in a fix whatever issue was preventing the app from being linked. It worked on my first try after that! This is a much less frustrating option than trying to add random spaces, etc.
I did this too, still never heard from them after the generic message.. I ve been trying do this for months

Yeh,after medical passed comes to SA and AIP,a few provavelmente don’t even received that and got straight up to DM.. so after you pass the medical is just a matter of time to get your decision made!

I've been trying to link my application for months, but I managed to link my OWP today.

Application sent on Aug 28
Application Received on Aug 30
AOR??
OWP returned due to missing 155$ on Sept
Sent OWP on Sept 29
Schedule A/PCC requested on Nov 11
Submitted Schedule A/PCC on Nov 29

When is the date of the OWP application received by CIC shown in your online account? please advise.

Is my sponsor supposed to receive an email at some point? He hasn't received anything so far.

Alo!

Is there anyone who now lives in Quebec city? I cannot speak French yet, so I feel lost in this city :( If I can have coffee or breakfast with one of you here, it will be great! We can encourage each other for our situations (I mean application's timelines), or complain for the situations, or simply talk for fun!!!

Leave me your contact, I will contact you right away!!!
I understand your pain, however I'm far south in Montreal :(
