Hey guys, I just received this email, I just wanna make sure, is this the notification that my OWP has been approved? And if yes, am I allowed to start working immediately or should I wait to receive my actual permit i the mail? Obviously don't wanna jeopardize all the hard work already done!

Your application to stay in Canada as a temporary resident has been approved. Your permit has been mailed to you at the address you gave us when you applied. If you have not received your document within six weeks from the date of this letter, contact us by completing this Web form (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp).
Please note that this letter is a notification only . It is not valid for travel and is not a permit allowing you to stay in Canada.

Document to travel to Canada or re-enter
A study or work permit is not a travel document. To allow you to travel to or re-enter Canada by air only , we have issued you an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) when we issued your permit extension. Your eTA is linked to the passport that you used to apply for your permit renewal. You must travel with this same passport. If you get a new passport, you will need to get a new eTA.

To learn more about eTA, visit Canada.ca/eTA (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/eta.asp).
Summary of documents issued

Document type: *Permit - WP-EXT / Permis - PT-PROR * Validity: 2019/11/21 *Document Number: XXXXXXXXXX
*eTA * Validity: 2022/11/20 *Document Number: XXXXXXXXXX

Sincerely,

Yes it's for your owp

Thank you so much! I can't even explain the joy right now!
Should I now wait to receive the actual permit in the mail to start working or can I work immediately?
Wait to receive it in the mail, it will usually come between 6 days then you can start work because your employer is gonna ask for a copy of the work permit.

My last employer has been waiting for me to get the permit so I can start working again, if I showed him the email he will for sure let me work again and I know with the holidays approaching they need help at work.
After I also got told that I will need a need a new SIN and that to get it I should apply with my new Work Permit.

what was your timeline? when was your application received and when did you receive AOR?

Thanks
I sent the application on September 1st, AOR was October 30th.
Schedule A and Police Check request were on October 30th and I submitted them through CIC on November 5th.

Hi there, I have a suggestion. Download and fill out form AHC2212 from the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan. It's the update form to add a dependent. So, it's actually your husband who's going to apply for this. After completing the form, go back to the registry and bring the required documents listed. I don't think it requires you to prove your relationship. It only asks for the date when you guys started living together. My husband and I actually did this right after we got married.. like a month after. I only gave a copy of my passport and my study permit and I think my husband also gave a copy of his driver's license or PR card. I received my card (actually it's a paper :D) after over a week.
Great!! Thank you so much for the info. I will try that! Thanks

Hey guys, I submitted inland file in Jan 2017, and status on online account is shown as " background check in progress" since last 4-5 months,
Can anybody help me with approximate timeline, how long does it usually takes ?

I'm in similar situation, received Feb 2017, same status. Medical was done/passed in July. Have you been asked for police check? As I have not... No updates since July

Hi everyone!

I was so excited this morning when I got my AOR. Unfortunately that didnt last long. I was unable to link my application online.

I have looked in this forum and tried other people's suggestions:
- number of applicants 2
- UCI and Application number
-UCI and surname
- application number and surname.

Any other things I could try?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Did you get the request to submit Sched A and PCC when you linked your account? Did you submit those?
Did you get the medical request? Did you do the medical and submit it? Does it show passed on MyCIC? If you sent it upfront, does it say passed on My CIC?

If so, it's only a matter of time. You'll probably hear something about SA, AIP, DM etc soon, maybe a few weeks.
