better call cic to clarify this things because as what I read and understand in the cic web we are not allowed to leave the country until you got your PR or else your application is at stake ,there might be a way to get a special visa or any sort of papers you need.Hey guys, trying to understand a bit more the situation if we want to go out of the country.
I am still waiting for my OWP at the moment as my AOR was September 5th and request for SA and Police Checks was October 30th.
In my mind I cannot leave the country till a decision is made regarding my PR. After reading some posts of other people I am now confused.
Can I leave the country at all? If I wait to have my OWP, could I spend a week holiday away with my partner (who is my sponsor) and come back without issues?
What is the deal with us applicants leaving the country during the application process?
Thanks in advance guys and thanks for everyone helping on this feed
I think it's better to be more honest. I personally included my 5 days stay in United States. It does take much more time to fill it up but I think it's better. If you do this right for the first time they won't be requesting more information. Which leads to more delays in processing your application (once they request something they will take additional time to open it and read it). Whenever you went out of the country of your citizenship I think it's better to mention it.Hello guys... got a question for Schedule A (the 06-2017 version)
I am currently filling this up and I am little bit puzzled on the personal history section.
Do I have to include my quick vacation travels (like 1 month each) in between my employment period?
Say I worked for the same company for 5 years and had 3 out of country vacations, do I have to list them all down chronologically like:
Jan 2011-Feb 2012 working for ABC, then Mar 2012-Apr 2012 vacation, then May 2012-Aug 2013 working for ABC (again)... and so on and so forth?
I was actually thinking I don't have to put in the travels in between as the form says personal history and no mention about travel history...
Thank you for your inputs guys...
Hi, you can leave the country as soon as you get your OWP and as long as you have a valid visa in your passport. Also, you shouldn't leave for longer than 3 weeks.Hey guys, trying to understand a bit more the situation if we want to go out of the country.

Wow, that's great! No you don't have to pay anything, the classes are free, and they will send you a cheque by mail. I think it's once a month. You have this 145$ per week financial support + around 70$ per month for transportation fees
It's ok if you 0 notion of French, you will learn there if you are willing to make some efforts
It is my understanding that the letter authorizing you to submit an application for PR in Canada is the AIP letter, so I don't think it will work. You should send them a copy of your owp as soon as you receive it, it should be the owp type 27 (type 27 means the owp is issued while the PR app is pending). That's what my husband provided.Wow, that's great!
So for how long since your husband applied for SIN, he can get it? Is it true if as soon as I get Work permit (OWP), I can apply for SIN?
For French course, after I created my online application, I received a letter which said that I have to send one of the following supporting documents:
=> I chose this option: "Letter from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada - Authorization to submit in Canada an Application for permanent residence". I printed and sent the 1st email from CIC telling me my Applicant number + UCI, and + CSQ. I did not send the 1st AOR. Is it enough?
- Confirmation of permanent residence (CPR) with two signatures at the bottom of the page
- Positive notice of decision from the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, OR Pre-removal risk assessment
(PRRA), issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada- Letter from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada - Authorization to submit in Canada an Application for permanent residence, OR Visitor Record, code 17, OR Work Permit, code 27, OR Study Permit, code 37
- Temporary Resident Permit with codes 86 to 95 only, OR Minister's Permit with the same codes
- Document regarding the first statutory situation (right to full-time training for naturalized Canadian citizens)
work permit status changed this morning to we are reviewing your eligibility requirements.... so hopefully today or in the next few days it will be approved [/QUOTEhi
How did you link your owp? Coz i tried it many times but it wont go tru..
Thank you so much! Your information is so helpful! It is my understanding that the letter authorizing you to submit an application for PR in Canada is the AIP letter, so I don't think it will work. Regardind SIN number, when you get your OWP you can go right away to Service Canada, they can issue it on spot
You have to use the ID from Quebec immigration, not from CICThank you so much! Your information is so helpful!
Now I have a problem with the online account:
http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/french-language/learning-quebec/full-time/application-admission.html
I cannot sign in. I tried one time and it showed that either my password or ID is wrong, and there was a notification said that I only can sign in with mistakes for 3 times, after that, if I cannot sign in successfully, my ID will be blocked! Hic, I don't know why... I just filled the ID and password like I registered the application. Or do I use the applicant number (for French course, not PR) as ID name?
I was under the impression not only from the CIC website but also my immigration lawyer that once your application is in, regardless of receiving your OWP that you cannot leave Canada and if you do, it will cancel your PR application and will only be let in on a visitor visa..Hi, you can leave the country as soon as you get your OWP and as long as you have a valid visa in your passport. When I went through customs at the Calgary airport the border agent told us otherwise. Once you have your OWP you will have no problems coming and going.I was under the impression not only from the CIC website but also my immigration lawyer that once your application is in, regardless of receiving your OWP that you cannot leave Canada and if you do, it will cancel your PR application and will only be let in on a visitor visa..
Not saying you're wrong at all, because obviously in your situation you had no problems. But there is so much conflicting information out there not only on this forum but on the CIC website and immigration agents/lawyers etc. It's all very frustrating and stressful, and not knowing who to believe or trust as everyone's case is unique and different. I want to travel back to Australia to see family but I have been informed by several different sources that my app will be cancelled and can only re-enter on a temporary visitor visa. As 12 months of processing for my application will be March 2018 (hopefully) i'm not willing to jeopardise thatWhen I went through customs at the Calgary airport the border agent told us otherwise. Yes, I know, as I told you earlier, I created another account on that web site, then I applied online. But yesterday, I could not sign in with the ID and password that I created. I will call them tomorrow then. You have to use the ID from Quebec immigration, not from CIC
