hello
i got a call this morning from immigration(private number) saying the address for my interview has change from 200 guy favreau(i know this place well) to 420 rue sherbrooke( la plaza= from what google is telling me its a hotel) anyone landing in montreal or knows of it ever went or had it done at la plaza?
p.s im trying to call cic to verify but its all automated...still cant get to talk to someone.
Maybe try to contact you MP and ask him/her to call CIC to check. Tell the MP you are not sure if it was indeed CIC or a fraudulent caller and that the location they indicated you is not at a regular CIC office. They should be able to give you back an answer rapidly.

I can see them needing to move the location though. In cases of maintenance, etc...

i didnt get in touch with cic but i did call the place of address in which they told me it use to be a hotel but not anymore and immigration has something going on there tomorrow. i told her immigration told me to come there for my landing and she told give me directions as to which room immigration would be

they told me everything is the same its just different address for the landing.

I have not heard of fraudulent calls relocating landings. If they know you are landing, and where/when, it would mean they most likely are from CIC and it's a legit call. My $0.05 here...

There is no question there -- you will be.

Hi guys, Is there anyone here who landed in Kitchener? How long does it take to get you SIN from service Canada after landing? Thanks

My wife landed at Kitchener. They told us to wait until the next day (Monday), but we went right away to Service Canada. They did have to send away for the new SIN. However, I do not think this is tied to us going too soon. I think it was an error in the information she gave them.

Hi guys, i will be landed tomorrow so i just wonder i am missing one expired study permit and only have a copy of it . Is it gonna be ok ? Or what should i do? Thanks a lot

Just advise them you couldn't find the expired permit. It won't really matter anyway. None of your permits will be valid any more, and they just want to invalidate them.

Do they mail it to you or do you get it immediately? Is the Service Canada close to the CIC building? Sorry for so many questions :) ..thanks

For Kitchener:
- I advise parking at KPL underground lot. It's pretty cheap and covered! That's on Queen Street.
- Once finished, hike down the street to the RBC building across from the green parking garage -- 2nd floor is the Service Ontario you need to go to to update/apply for OHIP. They are usually not busy at 9am. We were out in 15m.
- Service Canada is on the opposite side of Frederick Street to CIC, in the Market Square (this is opposite side of Duke to the Court House). There you will spend a little time, because they do process EI and other benefit related cases on a walk-in basis.

They will print you a SIN immediately (usually). In my wife's case, she had a temporary, but I think I heard her mis-spell her fathers name from the previous time. Which prompted a mail-in request.
