I have been seeing pictures and video of devastation and destruction from this hurricane season, and I am troubled by what I have seen. This forum brings together people from many countries, and I have gotten to know a great number of you -- and several for sure have been from the Caribbean region.

I believe I speak for most (if not all) when I say: here is to hoping all of our friends of Caribbean descent, and their families are all safe and OK.

the devastation is real! the Hurricane season has just begun so all Caribbean people are on edge at this time. I do hope everyone's family and friends are safe and do encourage everyone to advise family and friends to prepare as best as they can this hurricane season. The Hurricanes seems to be getting stronger and stronger, some people say Global warming is a myth!

Tropical storm has landing view scheduled for Canada!!!
Aren't we blessed to live in a country where we don't have to deal with the likes of Irma , Harvey n company.
Hell!!! What's minus 30 degrees compared to dealing with tropical storm Irma!!!

Agreed we don't see hurricanes often in Ontario -- they do out east for sure. Here we do still see Tropical storms and depressions. That's a far cry from a CAT 5 hurricane though.

Yeah, as you know me being from Antigua we were hit directly and our sister island Barbuda pretty much got destroyed. Luckily we only had one fatality but we can use whatever help we can get.

Called the MP assistant today after waiting for her to "get back to me on Tuesday". She said she received an email from one of their constituents in St Johns who is now looking into why I have not been set up with my landing appointment.
They told her it may take them 10 days to get an answer.
Now 12 weeks from DM, 6 weeks from formal DM letter stating to wait for directions from St Johns.
This is never going to end
On a brighter note, the house we bought to gut and renovate, is now complete. Well as complete as can be complete, lol,there will always be updates in the yard...the bank called and they are satisfied, thats all that matters

yes, multiple times, never get through, and the recording is just a duplicate of what is already online......... still processing background check........

going on middle of September now, I am now really 99.9% doubting this will be done by the end of 2017
