Yeah, as you know me being from Antigua we were hit directly and our sister island Barbuda pretty much got destroyed. Luckily we only had one fatality but we can use whatever help we can get.
As long as you friends and family are safe, that's the most important. I hope their home is not too damaged, but this can always be rebuilt.

Agreed we don't see hurricanes often in Ontario -- they do out east for sure. Here we do still see Tropical storms and depressions. That's a far cry from a CAT 5 hurricane though.
I wanna meet with trump. Arrange fo Irma to visit N Korea. ;)
Just have to arrange transport. :D

Hi guys, I have another question before my landing interview. I read on the forum that you're normally asked if you've ever been asked to leave Canada / refused entry into the country. Does having a previously rejected PR application mean that i have to answer yes to this question And does answering yes affect me?

I went out of status while that application was being processed . It was rejected and the appeal was also rejected. They had mentioned on that letter that i should leave Canada since i was out of status. They (CIC) already know this about me.

Based on my understanding, you are still supposed to answer 'NO' because that letter is generic and since CIC already knows this before granting you permanent residency, then it doesn't have any impact on your landing. Stay positive and good luck to you.

Hi guys,
I submitted the application Oct 2016
Application was received on Nov 9th, 2016.
Since then, I have not heard anything from cic. When I check my application status online, it only says application received.
Is that mean they have not yet start process my application?
I am bit worried here.

From what I'm hearing.. it's roughly around the 61 day mark actually. At least it decreased as it was previously around 65 days last month. congrats though!

On the sponsor side should show In Process. Are you using a representative? You can always c call the centre to see where they are at in your file. You want to make sure you're not missing any requested documents. However, they're currently working on applications sent up to Sept 9th or so.

Called the MP assistant today after waiting for her to "get back to me on Tuesday". She said she received an email from one of their constituents in St Johns who is now looking into why I have not been set up with my landing appointment.
They told her it may take them 10 days to get an answer.
Now 12 weeks from DM, 6 weeks from formal DM letter stating to wait for directions from St Johns.
This is never going to end :(
On a brighter note, the house we bought to gut and renovate, is now complete. Well as complete as can be complete, lol, there will always be updates in the yard...the bank called and they are satisfied, thats all that matters
Happy day :)

Good that you got your reno done. I hope they have a landing time for you soon!
