Hello everyone.

Profiler, if you dont mind I have a question for you. We received the request for the police certificate last week like everyone else. We didn't submit it with the application so its a good time for us to do it. My question is: Mexico takes 3 to 5 months to get it done (the Canadian Embassy coordinates with the Mexican police). Does that time get added on to the 13.5 months or is it done in parallel? We applied in November 2016.

Thanks in advance.

Profiler's not here, man...

Man that was a good movie.... "This isn't where I parked my car!" ...

OK sorry about the digression. Yes, they need that to complete Criminality (and partially Security. Security is the longest runner at 3-6 months). You need to notify CIC that you've requested it, and YOU MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF THIS. Otherwise, they will assume you are non-compliant and refuse the application. So, that will be 6 months + the time it takes to get your PCC + (Today - Nov 2016)...

I wouldn't read too much into it. It can depend on the office where you will be landing too.... some offices, like Montreal and Etobicoke are extremely far behind and inundated with other cases (Refugees, etc) that they are looking at 7-8 wks for them to contact you.. myCIC will probably read as stuff is open or under review until they send you a decision and you land...

My wife's myCIC says the above, and eCAS says "Application Received" -- and we have SA, AIP, two medicals were done, AND they've taken the RPRF (which they only do when they are ready to issue a visa).... So, you're in good company :).
Thanks profiler

You bet. Did you pay your RPRF? That can be another thing that slows cases up at the end..

Yes I paid since last year...And I was told they received the payment

Yeah, it it probably the local CIC office that will land you. You're not in Toronto or Quebec, are you?

Gotta love EuroTrip!

Thanks for the info! I have a couple quick follow ups if you dont mind: They have not asked for the police certificate via the portals, just an email. Can I later upload the confirmation from the Canadian Embassy that they have requested it on our behalf to the portal or do I need to call and explain? So the formula is 6 months + time for PCC (5 months) + 5 months (Today-Nov 2016) = 16 months?

Thanks again

Write a letter. Explain it will take 5 months. Sign and date. Include that + a copy of your proof that it was requested. Send this via CIC (IRCC) Web Form (CSE): https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx?_ga=1.11871924.180431664.1471314449

House rules state, that no one should be asking the profiler to math after 11....
It could take up to 16 months now. BUT, it will totally depend on how fast they can get that Criminality and Security checks finished.

Unfortunately or fortunately I am in Toronto and CPC Mississauga has been the one contacting me

Once the case is done as far as CPC-M goes, they will transfer it to Etobicoke to arrange a landing (and to perform any last minute checks, etc).

Etobicoke has become a black hole as of late...

Hi GuyanaGirl,

I want to update my OWP online. But under which category I should select to submit my OWP extension.
Can you please guide me?

Update? Do you mean extend the OWP?

I we extended via paper application, so I'm not sure what the online application looks like for that.
What are the category options they give you ?

It's killing me. The wife doesn't care anymore. To her, she's not cared since like October/November. Her words: "What are you going to do when I land and this is all over??"

I will need a twelve step program....

It's like waiting for that NES.... or watching paint dry... or water boil...

Oh well..!! Stay there, at least till we 2016's land..Ll need your magic wand and crystal ball :)

I can probably update the google spreadsheet to do the predictions. Would need someone to maintain the date they claim they are working on.... But yes, I will try to hang on as long as I can...

No my husband has not travelled since he submitted his application. But all the people who have travelled during that time have re-entered with no issues but this was BT (before Trump). Make sure you carry information wrt your application and your work permit.
