Hi muhannad_eng@yahoo.com .. Did you apply spousal sponsoship (PR) for your wife in Jan 2017 ? I applied in Feb 2017 and sponsored my wife . I am in canada and she is in india. DO you know what are the timelines or the process.. I got a request to submit police clearance certificate on March 3.. But not sure when medical request will come..
if your wife is outside Canada, you will not be able to use Inland sponsorship , you will need to use Outland Sponsorship,

Hello everybody!

I applied on 29 April 2016, does anybody have an idea when I can expect to hear anything ffrom CIC? Have submitted my medicals (upfront) in June 2016. No update ever since.

You're on track. They are sending document and medical requests to January 2016's now. March 2016 for us, and nothing but a police certificate request sent in error.

Hey Guys.

I have question. Our application was receive don Dec20,2016 and shortly after we received request to submit Police certificate and background from. Is that mean that they started to look at our application or it just a regular request?

Thank you in advance

That means they opened your application to see that you used the right forms and you included everything and in good order. They opened mine a day before yours but i did an upfront police request and medical too. Did you use old or the new application?

Congrats. Though I am pretty confused why this "lawyer" would not have tried to correct this "relationship proof" problem long before now. To be frank, I am pretty happy I didn't spend money on one.

My family notarized 2, and the other 2 were witnessed by Notaries (not quite the same as notarizing). Think of it this way: how do they know you didn't just write it and sign it yourself?

@profiler this for my husbsnd who is the applicant pr he got an UCI

I have one from a Deacon and one from my Boss. I did not have them notarized but I have not submitted them as yet.

Yes, I understood it's for him. If I paid a "lawyer" I would expect they would know what I needed to submit before it was submitted. The apparent lack of professionalism aside, it's pretty obvious now why you hadn't heard from them until today.

UCI - Unique Client Identifier. Assigned the very first time CIC opens a file for anyone (Citizens, PR's, People requesting to visit).

A Deacon is on the same level as a notary (they sign marriage licenses and baptism records, right?). It's not a requirement, however, it certainly strengthens the position if they are notarized. Then they know for sure, that you didn't sign it yourself.
